Because as I said in a previous post, they are regulated by the FSA in the UK.
But they're not in the UK.
Note their history of avoiding financial regulation at all costs.
At least you're loyal to your employer in the face of facts that don't meet your agenda..."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

As I've said before I do well from Ebay, but am not an employee. I don't have any particular agenda, my only one here being to point out that you are (probably not for the first time) incorrect in what you write as 'fact'.
Which part of "They are regulated by the FSA in the UK" did you not understand, I'm sure I've got some dictionaries in stock I can sell you
I know from previous postings that you have had your own problems with Ebay, that's fair enough, if you don't like them don't trade with them. I'm just concerned that others would see some of the vitriol you write and consider it to be fact..0 -

Dave Brooker believes that anyone who doesn't agree with him must be an ebay employee, I have been accused on more than one occasion. They earn interest on held payments, honest.Which part of "They are regulated by the FSA in the UK" did you not understand, I'm sure I've got some dictionaries in stock I can sell you
Oddly enough the paypal webpage that used to quote:
"PayPal (Europe) Ltd: Regulated by the FSA - PayPal... PayPal (Europe) Ltd: Regulated by the FSA. PayPal (Europe) Ltd. is authorised ...
institution. PayPal FSA Register Number: 226056. The ..."
is now replaced by
"You have requested an outdated version of PayPal"
And tapping "regulation" into the paypal site search box now reveals:
"PayPal will be regulated centrally by the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF), the Luxembourg bank authority.
On 2 July 2007, your customer relationship will be automatically transferred from PayPal (Europe) Ltd. to PayPal Luxembourg"I know from previous postings that you have had your own problems with Ebay, that's fair enough, if you don't like them don't trade with them. Do you always turn to lame abuse when you lose an argument?"Love you Dave Brooker! x"

I'm just amazed that people with no vested interest would be prepared to defend the undefendable, and sometimes even lie as part of said defence."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

Paypal is regulated by the FSA in the UK, the Luxembourg entity is still regulated by the FSA, as it is an entity from the European Economic Area which conducts regulated activities in the UK, as I mentioned several times before.
Not sure I offered any abuse, lame or otherwise, I also haven't lost an argument, I was using facts from knowledge rather than moulding existing facts with half truths to fund my own prejudices.
Incidentally you still haven't shown any documented evidence that Paypal are earning interest on monies held from UK customers, let me know when you have those facts and I'll continue to correspond on this thread. For now I'll leave it alone, unless you have any actual facts you want to add. Or are you just going to childishly call me a Paypal/Ebay employee again?.0 -
