Paypal holding our money for 21 days!

Hi,

Been told today that Paypal have changed lots of things on the Ebay website.

Apparently now when you sell something Paypal keep your money (and interest I might add) for 21 days before it is put into your account. But you still have to send the goods.

This can't be right!!!!!

this really doesnt seem fair-will put a lot of people off ebay l suspect as waiting 3 wks for your money is heck of a long time especially in the cuurrent economical climate.how did you find this out

Same problem i had, try refunding 1p to the buyer this unholds the money. Go into the transaction, select refund then type in 0.01 then press refund.

Very unfair way of making extra profit from their buyers, they can get stuffed in my opinion!

My brother was wondering why all the money he had make recently was not available in his account - it said it was "on hold" I believe. He call Paypal and they said its not them its Ebay. He called them and they say its for extra protection. What a load of @@@@ its just a why of them keeping hold of our money and interest for a long time. And in the mean time you have to send goods to the purchaser.

Also forgot to add (and this is a great one......) you only get your money if the purchaser leave good feedback. What are they playing at. Needless to say my brother told them were to stuff it and swear loads at them.......

They will certainly lose alot of customers this way. The only ones they might manage to keep our there business ones.

Wanted to bring it to Martins attention but not sure the best way of contacting him.................hoping he would say something about it on his GMTV slot he usually does, so people are aware of this.

Whilst it is annoying, this isn't happening to all sellers, just a few who are considered high risk, either in the items they sell or are considered a high risk or newer seller.

Most sellers are not affected by this.

I have complained to Watchdog, but i doubt things will change. Let him know about the 1p refund which means he can access his funds immediately. Yes you lose a 1p but least u get access to your money immediately.

I might have had some sympathy until I read that.

Anyway, read the rules about it, high risk sellers and/or high risk categories and money released either after 21 days or when seller leaves feedback whichever is first.

Always best to understand something before you get nasty otherwise you lose the moral high ground before you even get started. The moment you actually understand something you can then work out the most effective way to complain.

I sold an item and my money was on hold in my verified paypal account that Ive had 6 years so I refunded it and issued a invoice for dhs paypal account, unverified and new. The payment was on hold in his account. So how can they said its high risk items? Was the same item! High risk seller? ive not got 1 negative for selling since 2003 and either way the item being paid for was the same ebay account just diff paypal

Exactly my point in the way that its supposed to be for new sellers and security, isn't over 200 positive feedback and registered since 2004 enough? Obviously not as i had 2 payments held, but i refunded 1p and got the second one unheld straight away.

Thanks for pointing this out but its still not fair. He is a new ebay member but got great feedback 100%. So I assume one way to help would be to make sure you email the person as soon as they win to ask them to leave feedback straight away, but no all people leave feedback at all let alone straight away.

Look at it from the other side. New seller list high risk items and bolts with the money. Who pays for that?
