    Good afternoon guys

well i seem to have kitchenitis in that i can`t get out of the kitchen even though i don`t actually need to cook anything :o

So far i`ve made a pressure cooker full of spicy parsnip soup - this i was a little bit worried about as i can never be bothered to measure out spices and just guess, i tipped the curry powder in and the whole lot went in it :o my best guess is about 3 tablespoons but as it was a mild variety it tastes lovely, that is now cooling ready to go in the fridge.

I`ve also made a huge pan of spag bol sauce which is portioned up and cooling too and one of MSD`s Aunt Sallys apple cakes is baking in the remoska   I`ve no idea where it`s all going to go as the freezer is crammed full and the fridge isn`t much better, i could of cause just sit and eat it all :D

Kaat / Squiddly - It was all drizzly this morning so i hung the washing up on the radiator airers to dry i do hang it outside at silly times though but so do all my neighbours as we are all early risers, i sometimes get a shock when i`m tippy toeing around the garden at 4am and realise someone else is doing the same :D

    Aussie - I also like Direct D`s version :D

SnowyOwl - Great news about Dylan :j

Pooky - What an awful run of bad luck! Fingers crossed that it`s all behind you and lots of good fortune is just around the corner - you certainly deserve some!

Taplady - I am sending ((((HUGS)))) and good wishes for your poorly friend, she is lucky to have good friends and family to look after her.

Mr Sunny walked the houndies before he left this morning and they are both still fast asleep so it`s very peaceful here, even though the weather is nasty outside it seems nice and cosy inside, i have the water on to do the dishes and then i shall have a nice hot bath before looking out the pressies.

    Have a good afternoon everyone.

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p
  • Afternoon everyone.

Money Sadving Diva - My friend came to stay with us for a few weeks when she split up with her OH and ended up staying a year:eek: Actually, i enjoyed it as it was nice to have her there. It was just after I had DD so she kept my mind from turning to mush as I was off work and apart from her and OH, I didn't really see any other adults. We used to share a nice bottle of lambrini on a friday night........ Its ok, I have much better taste in wine now;)

I am cooking roast beef for tea tonight and I could do with a bit of help actually...... It weighs 1305g and I have it in the oven at 180c - How long does it cook for. I have worked out from the instruactions that it would be 2 hours but that sounds like a lot!!

I want it as rare as possible without it being pink iyswim. OH hates it when it is pink but thats how i like it:mad:

    Thanks

    Afternoon all

Had the BM on. Made a loaf for my DS and DIL, will take round to them tomorrow to get their opinion. Just brought the washing in as it started raining, still a bit damp but could have been worse. Had a roast lamb dinner, was yummy. Did a pile of ironing while lamb was cooking. Then rang Sky to cancel movies :( they gave them to us free for 3 months but we cancelled em for good today. Every little helps :D

Have just been trawling the site and have been thinking of starting entering all the comps that are about. Can anyone tell me, when you have to enter all your details, name address, e mail etc etc does this mean you will be inundated with spam and rubbish coming through your letter box??? Am tempted, but if it means being bombarded with more useless rubbish via e maiil and letter box I don't think I will bother.

    Have a good evening all

Trying to get back to lowcarb eating but have made dough in the breadmaker for home made rolls for the rest of the family. After the rolls have proved in the Remoska I will bake them in there.

Sunday lunch was roast pork and roast potatoes done in the Remoska with carrots, leeks and mushy peas.

Just caught the local Mr S. for some milk and a few other things we needed before they close.

I have been ordering presents for Christmas over the last few months to spread the cost. Amazon have a 70% sale on which has been very useful and saved a lot of money.

Hi all, hope you've all had a decent weekend. We did a lot in the garden this morning, sweeping up leaves, raking lawn,Dh emptied the gutters of leaves( v smelly job)Then the heavy rain started - I stayed out for a bit ,but my coat was wet through so I got dried off and washed my hair and we settled down with the papers.
Was very disappointed last night when Laura was voted off X-factor-she's  (oops didnt want that smiley) from our neck of the woods,so we were willing her on and we thought she'd go to the final.I think perhaps the earlier poster was right about people trying to wind up Louis and Simon :p
OS wise-bacon butties for lunch, steak roasties and veg for tea, followed by hm apple pie.Made an extra pie to freeze as the apples were pretty big,but I'm trying to get some space in the freezer for Chrissy stuff.Ages ago I bought 2 Gressingham ducks from costco when they were on offer, its quite a big package so I've pulled that out to do something with this week.
Right nearly time for Sunday night telly, see you tomorrow :D x

    evening!

just had a nice tea of butternut squash and cranberry roast(Tesco) with roasted sweet spud, butternut squash, red onions and cauliflower and leeks in cheese sauce.
Been to Bromsgrove to collect the last of DS1s belongings which are now all littering my car up:rolleyes: the weather here has been appalling, torrential rain and flooded roads - had to make a detour to get there.

rang my friend tonight but she has gone to bed after being sick again, poor love.

Off to watch Strictly in a mo - hope its John who goes this week - I do like him but its just not fair on the others now.
    Do what you love :happyhear

Not a heck of a lot because I am really under the weather with a cold so it was just a veggie lasagne (from scratch of course) and a steamed ginger sponge with custard
