Morning all
Diva, we'll be looking out for a newbie who says you sent her here then?! And ((hugs)) for you too hon, you are doing a great job of being there for your friend & I'm sure he appreciates it more than you know.
Sunnyday, are your neighbours used to you hanging out washing in the early hours?!? And there's nothing wrong with living on cake for the weekend
ChocolateOrange - breakfast in bed for a week at least I'd say!
Pink, it's so frustrating when you're exhausted & yet can't sleep. Hopefully DD coming home will provide a distraction & maybe you'll be able to relax a little more. Hard when you have things on your mind though.
Aussie, I like version 2 as well. Ooh, and version 4!!!
Snowy, great newsI only watch x-factor cos DD's have it on - but Louis has become even more irritating than ever. Quite smug & unpleasant I think. I love Strictly but agree John needs to go now too.
Like Sunnyday I am hoping to have a Christmas sort out at the end of the week (when my essay's in); I've got some bits already & need to work out what to still get. I'm going to get what I have got wrapped up too so that I can enjoy the run-up to it all rather than it being a frenzied rush!
Also I'm going to go to a butcher's near my aunt who does fabulous free-range organic meat (which isn't something I can usually afford to buy), and see about a small turkey & piece of lamb perhaps. It should be a fairly quiet chilled-out Xmas this year, which will be lovely!
Beef casserole done in SC today I think. Weather looking promising so will get the sheets out on the line too.
(((((hugs))))) for all the bruised & battered, or feeling down.

Morning all
Hugs to all in need today.
Well what a naff week....shall be glad when it's over.
Both DD's have 2nd hand laptops for homework....both laptops died this week....hoping we can get them fixed but just can't justify the money this month. Friday morning I broke a tooth whilst eating HM soda bread - I'm so bad at going to the dentist so DH literally dragged me along to get sorted...luckily they got me in as NHS as DD's are registered there so it wasn't as bad as I thought price wise......
Then yesterday morning, the car blew up. Cost of repair £1800+, the car's not worth that much so we had to have a rejig of finances and go car shopping. Ouch!
DH's birthday today so made a lovely dinner last night but neither of us were in the mood to actually enjoy it...ah well, plenty of left overs for today.
Had a huge cooking day during the week so have filled the freezer with curry, tomato sauces, quiche, beans and pulses etc, should keep us going for a while.
Need to finish my HM xmas pressies this week - got 4 dough craft things to make, 2 sock monkies to start and then I need to start on the cards!! I seem to be running out of time.
Hope you all have a fab Sunday."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Good morning all, DH is away working, so I'm solo parenting and don't have much time to post. I still read though, but by the time ds has gone to bed, my brain has gone into melt down, and I can't think straight, never mind talk or post coherently.
This week I've had a new freezer delivered as my old one is threatening to have a breakdown. I'm now contemplating running both freezers, but keeping the new one for expensive food and using the old one for cheaper, fast turnover things. Hmmmmm.
I haven't had a very OS week. It was ds's birthday, so we've had lots of visitors, and after contemplating a sandwich for dinner for the second night running due to people not going home until almost ds's bed time, I gave in and ordered a takeaway. Ds used to be the fussiest eater ever, but he tucked in too. I don't know what cheered me up more - not having to make dinner, or seeing Mr Fussy eating something he wouldn't have touched 6 months ago.
I've managed to keep up with house cleaning, and washing and ironing too, in spite of the visitors. I sometimes feel I don't spend enough time making things with ds, but I was explaining how we do shortbread and cakes etc to the mum of one of his little friends, and she seemed impressed. Maybe I need to be a bit kinder to myself.
Hugs to all that need them, and take care all of you.0 -
Morning all
Sorry for those not sleeping - it's horrid when you really need a good rest but can't.
Plans today are to alternate some christmas crochet and embroidery with cleaning. i find that if I sew for too long my wrists hurt so I will do half an hour of each. The Mighty Brentford are on telly this afternoon so eveything will stop then - I have my shirt, beers and snacks all ready - Go Bees!
Tea tonight will be rubber chicken - I've been home alone - yay - this weekend so it's only been used for sandwiches. I'm not yet sure in which guise it's going to appear but inspiration may strike later.
Aussie another vote for DirectDebacle's versionI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -
Morning all,
Not raining here yet, but looks like it might, will get out for a walk later, and other than a quick tidy through I will not be doing too much at all.
Roast lamb and all the trimmings for lunch, dd is off out with her dad to watch one of her step brothers play football.
Snowy, I am soooo glad that Dylan has produced a parcel for you :T
Smoky hope you feel better soon xx
Pink hope you get some sleep soon, and that your ds is ok xx
Aussie, I think its no 4 too
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning all,
Hugs, congrats to those in need
I am at my mums this weekend - we went to Ikea yesterday and bought bookcases and a dining table and some other things as well. Very stressful
I am eating like a king - friday was meat and potato pie (my favourite dinner), yesterday was steak and stilton sandwichesand today is chicken casserole. Yum yum yum
So, not much OS going on for me atm. I am starting to panic about Christmas now - I thought about transferring all my Dads tapes onto CD for his present, but it is so labour intensive I am reluctant to commit myself to the time aspect.
Anyway, I was just poking my head up to let you all know I am still alive
Have a good one :beer:We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
Morning all!
Stef - my mate keeps going on about pie and mash, he was almost in tears after chatting to some rellies who were going on about enjoying it the other day! Have told him I'll drop him off when I take the kids to see santa at Harrods later this month, lol, should I send him to keep you company, you can both get your fix together then!
Aussie - I can't believe you don't have photographic evidence of what's gone on yet!
Smokey - Glad the bedroom is all done and you are sleeping peacefully again, hope you feel properly well again soon.
Redruby - sorry to hear about your car, some people really are beyond belief!
Pink - hope you get some decent sleep soon, any more news about ds?
Penpen - great pic!
Well cold, grey and windy here today, ds is off to rugby, but his dad is taking him so I shall stay home in the warm!
So far have done brekkie, put dough in bm for rolls for supper, thown stuff in wm and think that's it! Well, it is Sunday!
Roast beef for dinner today, yorkies courtesy of Mr T, I still cannot make them and it's hardly os to keep throwing the pancakes I make in the bin, even the dog won't eat them and I caught him eating horse poo the other day, so that prob tells you something! Apple and blackberry crumble for pud, have got everything out of the freezer except for the veggies, so am making inroads in my attempt to create some space there - shame I have a huge box of sausage casserole and some curry to put back in there! Every time I think I'm emptying it I seem to find stuff to put in there, seems like magic but can't be else my shopping bills would be zero!
Plenty of ironing to do today, and some hoovering and general tidying, but other than that it's going to be a nice restful day.GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000
