    Good morning everyone :hello:

The chilli last night was divine. I've got another four portions (ie 2 meals worth) ready to go in the freezer. The recipe says that it serves 4 people, but they must be the largest people in the world ever as I was VERY generous with our portions. :D

We're going to see the new James Bond film today. I've heard no-so-good things about it, but we're going with friends who we haven't seen for a while. Then tonight, I'm helping in the box office of our little town's "cinema night". I got a free ticket for tonight's film and DH has had to pay for his. :D

Lunch is leftover "Blockhouse Pie" from the farmers' market yesterday with some olive ciabatta, which we'll wolf down before we head to the cinema. Tonight's supper will be sweet chilli fishcakes with salad (also from the farmers' market!).

Right, onwards and upwards. Have a good Sunday. (((hugs))) to all those that need them.

    Morning!
I have been having a fitness drive this last fortnight, indoor running and floor excercises.
Im trying to get myself back in shape after sitting around for months, well not literally but I felt a bit flabby and out of shape.
Im going to brave it next week and actually run outside with OH when he gets back from work.
I want to do some job hunting now the kids are not here very much.
I thought maybe I would just carry on as usual but it is very dull and boring with nobody here (not to mention lonely). Excercise boosts my self confidence ,no end.
OH is policing today at the rememberance day in London.
We had one of those telephone company canvassers knock at the door yesterday and I was ready for him having seen him at work on a neighbour earlier in the day LOL
It went like this (all names have been substituted)
He said, 'You should have received your phone call price reduction from 'supaphones' and I said ,'really? I expect they will sort it out ! '
'Err yeah', he said, 'your with 'dingbat calls' right?' and I said 'No(although we are LOL). 'oh' he said 'are you with 'speedodial' I said 'no we are with 'blabberline'!
He said 'oh well ,have you looked at how much you are paying for your broadband?'
I said 'we dont have broadband' (tut tut more little fibs)
He said 'er,r oh all right then, well i expect you want to get back in the warm so I will let you go'!
I think it is the shortest conversation I have ever had with one of them .
I dont envy them their task but I hate how they try and trick you into telling them all your details by twisting things about.
I pigged out on fried egg on toast this morning having had porridge all week.
Lunch will be cheese and tomato sandwiches with HM bread and tea will be HM Quiche from the freezer, baked potatoes and veg.

I don't actually need it for Christmas - I'm not having one. Well not at home anyway. DH will still be on a big grey ship somewhere hot and sunny, ds and I are going to my friends for Christmas dinner, and apart from that I expect we will just be eating our usual things.

I was thinking I could keep the raw ingredients in the new freezer, and do some bulk cooking for the other one. I could also use it for bread, milk etc at least until dh comes home, as I tend to only go shopping once a week (ds is 4 and I'm not keen on taking him round Asda too often). We still use about 1/2 a cows worth of milk a week, so it could be useful.

    Good morning all:D

Just finished watching the Remembrance Sunday service at the London cenotaph on TV. One day I will go in person to pay my respects. I haven't even watched it on TV for years, normally I'm at Church, but this morning my head is a tiny bit fragile. (yep, all my own fault, I'm on the wagon for the next week at least :o )

OS today will be those things that basically do themselves. So that will be the washing machine working overtime, and very little else;)

Aussie, have you actually seen sourpuss, or is number 4 a possibility:eek: :rotfl:

Snowy, well done Dylan:T He may never be 100% healthwise, but it sounds as if things have improved from where he was. Did you manage to get any of the (alternative) treatments you were researching? If so, do you think that's what has helped?

Hugs to all who need one. I'm off for yet another coffee (it's not workingicon9.gif, nor has the couple of pints of water, serves me right:o ) CM x

    afternoon all!

    Churchmouse - nice apt avatar!:T

Pink - hope you get a good nights sleep and enjoy your time with DD, I know how you feel as my DS is now home after 12 months away.

VickyA - I wish I was coming with you to see James Bond - its not on here till January.

Been carbooting this morning - got 2 books for 50p each then went to Sainsburys and bought some clothes in their 25% off offer(for christmas) This afternoon got to go to DS1s lodgings and collect the rest of his stuff and clean up the room. Have bought his landlady some wine and a card.

I spoke to my friend yesterday and she is relieved to be at home after several weeks in hospital but is really shattered. I got her some trackie bottoms as she cant cope with trousers round her tum and also some of those fluffy bed socks as she was complaining of cold feet. I'm going to see her tomorrow. her daughters have been to visit and spring cleaned her house, her partner is struggling as he's not in the best of health either.

Hope you all have a lovely Sunday - Twink please send our love to PP if you are in contact with her at any time x

    Afternoon all :hello:

    Hugs to poorlies
I had quite a good sleep - until nearly 9! - after waking up with a real coughing fit earlier in the night. It was really windy here so was quite pleasant being snuggled down in the bed with the noise of the wind howling outside.
I have been out to MrT for 'stuff' like toilet rolls, coffee etc. I forgot to take back my tins of tuna which they had sneakily put next to the half price offer but I'll do that later. They are not getting my hard earned money!
I'm going to give the kitchen a good clean this afternoon with Stardrops and vinegar. I'm also cooking my bargain Morrisons topside - but not in the slow cooker as it doesn't have its lead and I don't have another one anywhere. So much for seeing if it's still working!
I also watched the memorial service this morning and was really moved to see so many marching and laying wreaths.
Off out with doggies at some point. Should have done it this morning when it was all sunny and nice but we'll still enjoy it.
Hope everyone has a relaxing Sunday

I've not been able to get online for a couple of days, so welcomes, hugs, congratulations & commiserration as applicable.
We didn't go to BIL's on Friday, we really weren't in the mood, hubbys done 9 days work for BIL2, but is unlikely to get paid til January!
The lodger is only here for 2 weeks which is a shame for us as she's very nice, she was originally taken on to cover a member of staff who'd been told she was seriously ill, it turns out to be a misdiagnosis & said staff member is not infact seriously ill, which is very good news.
OS wise, the WM has been on 3 times & it is sunny out so thats good. I'm cooking a chicken, £3 from Tesco, so hopefully that wil last a few days, last weeks budget was blown one day when I took HM Soup to work for my lunch, only to find that someone had taken my mug, so I was unable to heat it up & Had to buy a sandwich from the canteen £2.17 & the filling was dreadfully sparse.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester
