Pardon.
What I said is Boots have brought it on themselves and people are entitled to get free items as the vouchers allow that. And I don't have a problem with people getting enough to keep themselves and family stocked for a reasonable amount of time say 6 -12 months.
But I do have a problem with pure greed because it is free and getting hundreds of items is just that. I could not nor my close family including all the blokes use that amount in a reasonable amount of time. To me that is not a good enough reason to strip the shelves because it is free.
And because of the abuse boots will be even more careful of such promotions in the future either not running them at all or making the T&C's very tight.

No, but things like face cream and make up etc does not have finite life. So I can't see the use of getting hundreds of products that are going to be no use in about 3 or so years time even if they have not been opened.
As you don't know what the chemical changes that goes on inside the packet.
And I for one value my health and face way more than saving a few pennies to use stuff that is a couple of years old.

But don't see the point in taking more than a person can use themselves or give away to friends/family or even charity. As that is just greed. Well it is to me. And that is the way I was brought up.
Calley
Well I certainly haven't heard of anybody getting hundreds of items.
As for your point about taking too many, that your not going to use them, then I agree with you there.
But what harm is there taking enough to spread the happiness around?0 -
I have now used over 40 vouchers....and i have no qualms in doing so..this site is about consumer "revenge" we get ripped off so much in this country.
I have used 3 to 5 vouchers at a time not spent any money so havent used advantage card. I am also male so none of the products are for me, but I feel great about it. Wife and her friends and both our mums will benefit.
Sorry Calleyw but I disagree with your stance0 -
Tut tut, I do hope this thread isn't going to be cause for bickering (no matter how slight
). We are all united in the same aim, i.e to save money, so let's not disagree over what level to do it at?
Please?
Anyway, just wanted to say.........I GOT A CANDLE! Whoo hoo. :rotfl: One single solitary yellow candle sitting there all lonely ....there wasn't even a shelf price ticket so I guess it was unwanted in amongst all the other Aromatherapy things there. So I did the decent thing and stuck it in my basket.
Along with a couple of free wipes/exfoliator stuff.Herman - MP for all!0 -
In Boots today to see what i could get with a £5 TD voucher (havent had anything yet and only got 1 item today as not a great range, would only have got a couple anyway) and wanted some GiletteVenus blades. I knew they were quite expensive but at £5.15 for 4 i wasnt going to pay it. I then noticed a Boots equivalent nearby, a razor packed with 2 heads, triple blades lubri strip, rubberised handles, suction holder etc (nice looking) for what was £4.39 but on offer at £2.19 also the replacement heads in packs of 4 for what was £3.99 on offer at £1.99. So i thought i would give it a try, i was getting the razor and 6 heads for less than a pack of venus blades. Anyway, went to the till and it was £2.19. When i look at my receipt it says 0 for the blades and £2.19 for the razor. So i left the store and it was bugging me wondering if it would work if i brought 2 lots of blades. So i returned and picked up 4 lots of blades and yep it worked too. I got the 4 packs for £3.98. So i have enough to keep me going for a while!!! Now my daughter wants one too. I
I actually paid for these with my points gained from using AC vouchers. I picked up the T+G serum and wax and used the £1.50 voucher form the booklet which worked as £1.50 off both even though i only gave 1 voucher as its off each thing. So £17 worth for £4. I printed some vouchers off from the AC machine (300 No7 uplifting, 100 hair science, 50 boots ??? and another for 100, cant remember all exactly but had 550 worth of points vouchers of which not all items i brought but it took them all off at the till). The hair science shampoo should have been 1.99 but was reduced to 98p so with my 100 points voucher i actually got paid 2p to take it away.
I got a No7 High Lights Illuminating powder free with my £5 No7 voucher which should have been £9.50 reduced to £4.75. I also got a No7 High LIghts illuminating Lotion free with £5 No7 voucher which should have been £10 reduced to £5. Got TD Line Smoother for 50p instead of £5.50 with TD & DR voucher. So my little bag of No7, TD and blades are worth £50 but cost me in cash 50p. Wow!! only just realised that. Even if i had paid for the chargeable stuff instead of using my points it would only have been £6.50.
I never ever used to go in Boots until discovering this board. Im so so glad i have. Thankyou evryone for sharing your info.0 -
