I can't claim any of the credit. I think it was 'Milarky' who realised it's true potential back in May when it was paying only 6.05% (within a month or so it had gone to 6.30%.

I should have closed it down late September/early October and then opened up another. C'est la vie!

I have opened various of these 6.3% accounts. It didn't seem to specify that you needed to close an old one to open a new one, for it to benefit from the 12 month fixed rate.....

I hope I am not mistaken!

    Oh dear!...
    11. During the Introductory Offer Period only one Account in your sole name may be opened, but you may open any number of joint Accounts with another party or parties provided the joint account holders are different to other joint account holders of accounts to which you are a party.

I would imagine you're earning the (very poor) standard rate on all but the first one?

Maybe so, but it was you that talked me into opening one back in June ;) In fact, if you recall, I'd just opened the 6.05% a day or two before they announced the 6.3% account and I had to get them to close the first and transfer funds over to the new one as it stated you could only hold one account.......

I've just had a terrible thought _pale_

Having reminded myself of the T&C's earlier, surely what they did actually broke those as they transfered money from an account opened prior to that one, albeit only a day or two, but still .... I think I need to make a 'phone call :o

ETA: Phew!!!!!! It's definitely still attracting the 6.3% rate :D

When they introduced the 6.3% rate they also increased the rate of the other introductory rate accounts to match it, so effectively when they merged the two accounts I held they were both at the same rate. I'd forgotten all about that :o
