Thanks for the heads up fella's.

Due to the recent turmoil, I've opened two new accounts; I've moved 40k from Nationwide to my new Egg account. I'm about to move another 40k into...my new citibank account!! Or correction...I was!! I did not realise that these two were connected.

er...any ideas where to open yet another one??

I'm not so sure...Since the (now 5.05% paying) 6.55% account MUST have been opened AFTER the 6.30% account, it's not "new money" (as defined by Egg) is it?

Yes, I remember you mentioning this before which is why I went looking for the T&C's before I made any attempt to transfer money.

It's rather confusing isn't it as from the link you provided it says:
9. Deposits into the Account may be made by debit card, BACS, CHAPS, Direct Debit and cheque. Deposits by internal transfer from an Egg Savings Account (Internet) or Egg Savings Account (Investor) opened prior to the Introductory Offer Period are not permitted during the Introductory Period.
Yet on the FAQ page it states:
The Egg Savings Account (Internet) introductory rate offer

Please be aware that transfers by internal transfer from an existing Egg Savings Account (Internet) or Egg Savings Account (Investor) are not permitted during the twelve months from the date the account is opened.

I'm not aware of any changes to the T&C's and if there has been any I've certainly not been informed of them!

Don't Egg Banking and Citigroup have separate FSA registration numbers?

Yet on the FAQ page it states:
FAQ's don't govern agreements...T&C's do.

They can put what they like in FAQ's, but T&C's will always take precedence. ;)

In summary:

Yes!

2 lots of £50k FSCS coverage.
• Umm, I applied for the 6.55% account on Friday 7th November (may have been Thurs but think Fri) - what rate will I get? Not heard anything from them yet and quite confused!

Those new rates are laaaaame.

Will keep my Egg ISA until Feb until I can top up my now crappy Barclays paying ISA. Then move them both elsewhere (if anything still exists by then *sigh).

Yup, had forgotten that it was 'user defined' - still comforting, though... ;)
Mine's called Savings 6.3, so I can drool and slobber in the knowledge that I'm receiving a rate "beyond sizzling" ;)

They haven't dropped their mortgage rate though, the bast'ds

I seem to remember it didn't like special characters, ie %, decimals?, so I called mine 630 FIX (note the capitalisation ;))...and get a similar warm feeling. :D

I do have one regret though...I opened my account back in June (with £1) and, with hindsight, I should have closed it down late September/early October and then opened up another. C'est la vie!

yeah, I think you're right - maybe I've called it Savings 63

I remember reading your rantings about it being a good insurance against falling rates but there were better options about at the time and as it was only going to last a year I decided to take a risk on availability and wait until people started talking about falling rates - I got mine fairly close to it being pulled ;):D

Thanks for the tip though, much appreciated  - got any more? ;)
