I wonder if that means that £5 is what the manufactuer charges stores, and then Boots put the price up by £6? I wouldn't be surprised, as they obviously *heavily* overprice things so they can have "sales". I swear, I don't see why anyone who isn't Bootsing would actually pay full price for the majority of items in that store.
Very true, but then a soggy sandwich doesn't cost £2.80 to make either! ;)

Boots are shocking at ramping the prices up - one of my favourite examples is cotton wool balls which are £1.50ish in Boots and 30p in Wilkos!

They're almost asking to be fleeced! :D

For all Bootsers returning stuff to store............ this may be helpful!

I was refused a refund on a Boots.com order, so I emailed CS. I took their reply back to the store, and then they miraculously remembered how to process the refund!;)

Thank you for contacting us about returning items from a boots.com order to one of our stores.

All but the very smallest corner chemist stores (including our Alliance chemist stores) should be able to process a refund for a Boots.com order. If you would be so kind as to let us know which store you went to, I can check for you and we can contact the store on your behalf. I am most sorry for any inconvenience caused to you.

Thank you for letting us know about this. Please contact me again via email or on 0845 6090055.

Thanks hunni - just don't want a fuss if I have to return one today, as I can only get to a small store :(
If they ever both arrive mrs bb ;) look at one of the returns notes. On the reverse it states:

Option 2. Return to your local store.

"Please take this dispatch/returns note and your items along to your local store. This does not affect your statutory rights."

    hth :D

Sorry for my rant girlies but .com is useless...can anyone give me some advice please? If I do get both orders and get charged for both can I return a .com order to ANY store? (ie even a small one?)

And also is CS right, that they will refund the money on to my debit card even though I paid by paypal?
So you've had two amounts debited from your paypal a/c?

If CS say one order can be refunded instore, get a ref number off the CS person and take it the unwanted order into a store. The cashier can then phone up CS with the ref number if there's a problem.

Hope you get it sorted. :)

    Snipped from Mrs BB

But none have actually been delivered yet, which is even better....according to CS (which I have just rung for the 4000th time in two days) I have to wait and if both are delivered then take one back to store and they will then refund on to my debit card..even though i paid by paypal, is this true? Anyone?[/quote]

MRS BB this happened to me ..apart from one of the boxes in question was another customers xmas stuff, and not my washing powder.I was told to take it back to store...where the store manager restored my faith in Boots by being fuming mad, that I had been asked to do this, and Customer service had not arranged to pick it up.
I then had trillions of phonecalls with customer services...no joy until I wrote a letter, then heard from big cheese with offer of 1000 points. I was not impressed. I didnt want points, I wanted an apology, and I got it in the end. Me thinks store manager gave them little bit of a telling off lol.

Sorry for rant:o wont do it again:D

As much I find the s&g stuff to be fun, it's not the best for really dry skin. I'd recommend the shea butter body butter at the body shop, aqueous cream at Boots, or good ol' Palmer's Cocoa Butter products (also sold at Boots). A male friend of mine was having severely dry and chapped hands, and the thing that works best for him is the Palmer's. It's not too pricey, either, and I may have seen a voucher about for it? Maybe someone else can tell you, I ignored it as I don't need anymore creams right now, lol.
I suffer from "detergent" hands (always washing hands) and find that changing handwash helps alot.

I make my own from watered-down Ecover washing up liquid. Very very mild.

I use a thick handcream overnight (don't use during the day, they leave greasy marks everywhere).

Skibster I couldnt have put it better myself:T .I think the longer you Boots, the wiser you get to the overpricing. I have started buying everyday essentials at Savers, and the other store Mr S:o , and waiting for true bargains and glitches at Boots..

  • Right guys both have arrived, and since I needed a speedy refund, I am gonna brave it and return the items to store...but looking at the despatch note, it doesn't state the item prices or delivery charge, so how do I go about getting a refund on to my card? *lost n stressed*

The last time I took an order back, the SA just scanned every item for a refund, and told me the total amount that would be going back on my card. She then asked me which card I had used to pay for it....and I handed it over!;)

If they have any query - then it has the order number on top of your invoice, so they can always phone .com to check first!:D
