It looks like the SAs put it through the way Krispiiduck explained here: #1780 (which probably means the SA wasn't prepared to reduce it any further), because I think (but could be wrong) that the till allows it.

A similar thing happened to me and a friend when we both bought the same items but used different tills. Theirs scanned ok and showed up as Bogo half price, but mine was inputted as 'Beauty' so I lost out. But when they were rescanned, they showed up as Bogo half price too.

The only thing that never seems to scan for anything but the price stated, for me at least, is when a clearance item has a handwritten 'group code' sellotaped to something, and was told that they only go through at the clearance price, regardless of any offer (Not sure if that's true either, but it was told to me by a SA that would try anything )

I'd try it again at a different Boots, or with a different SA

I_am_mad the clearance used to be on the 1st floor outside the lifts but only a very poor one. You would be better looking for reduced SELs IMO.
Or drive down to the exe bridges store they always have a good clearance just inside the entrance.

Just an update on the on-going mrs bb .com order...you'll never guess what...supposedly, BOTH orders have been charged and I will be receiving BOTH today, and BOTH have been charged, did I mention that BOTH have been despatched and charged?! *is flaming* Totally totally p****d off......grrrrrrrrrrr......

But none have actually been delivered yet, which is even better....according to CS (which I have just rung for the 4000th time in two days) I have to wait and if both are delivered then take one back to store and they will then refund on to my debit card..even though i paid by paypal, is this true? Anyone?


I am so annoyed, as I can't afford for both payments to be taken out of my account and until I can get one refunded I will have nada.....I am never ordering from that darn site, it has been a complete catasrophe from start to finish!!

PAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


P.S And to make it even better my points aren't even showing as pending on .com - yay!! Best service ever this

Hi squidgum It looks like you've been given an ambiguous explanation by CS, but I'd take the points and try elsewhere, as I think the same items are being refused in our stores too. But that's just my point of view based on my experience. It's one of the few things that I find annoying, as it's not our fault if something we need ends up on offer is it?

(I'm thinking of the John Frieda offers and mocs - as JF seems to be permanently on offer lately lol, but it makes my brain buzz wondering just how the mocs will actually scan )

Sorry for my rant girlies but .com is useless...can anyone give me some advice please? If I do get both orders and get charged for both can I return a .com order to ANY store? (ie even a small one?)

And also is CS right, that they will refund the money on to my debit card even though I paid by paypal?

Any help/advice/comments would be great
