Please can someone advise - I am trying to find face cleansing products that do not have alcohol in them. I was told by one assistant in Boots to use the simple range but even their wipes that say 100% alcohol and perfume free have got alcohol listed in the ingredients. I am currently trying the AVENE range of samples but not too keen on the cleanser. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Where's PALICE when you need her? She is sssoooo good at this kind of stuff! I'll try explain, but without getting into why it is hard lol

Simple wipes can say they are Alcohol free because they only contain things like Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol, Myristyl Alcohol and Behenyl Alcohol depending on what wipes you have.

These types of Alcohol are classed as "Fatty Alcohols" that occur naturally in small quantities in plants and animals etc. These are not the types of Alcohols which cause reactions. The term ‘Alcohol' means only that the ingredient has been distilled during its manufacture.

So simple wipes can say they are Alcohol free etc :)

If you have any other brands, the 'Alcohols' you need to avoid are: ‘Alcohol', ‘Alcohol Denat' or 'Ethyl Alcohol'

So use your Simple wipes and watch out for the above 3 ingredients in products in the future :)

Haven't seen it mentioned but the Pinkie or SS voucher beeped with the RM mirror today and the SA said it's not available on gifts! The SS voucher beeped first and I hadn't even tried the pinkie, even though I was waiting for the till to accept the first before trying my luck with the SA on both. . I then said see if it works with the pinkie and it beeped again, so couldn't use any and had to start again.
Lost my bottle then and just used the vouchers on separate transactions
Look after the pennies and the £££s will look after themselves

I got the clam shell GWP a couple of days ago and when I opened it the gold eye shadow stuff had burst over everything inside the tissue paper?
Do you think its cheeky to take it back?

Mimi - and anyone else not getting the 250 points - try scanning the points coupon first before you scan the money-off coupons. :)

The SA did that today and also tried scanning both sides, scanning just the 250 points and no other coupons - with no luck.

:rotfl: GENERALLY they are just made up in a lab to replicate the natural ingredients :D Although ALOT of Anti perspirants use it naturally as it is one of the only types of Alcohol that will not irritate but yet will let the other ingredients dry.

So I doubt your putting lard on your face, but if your using a sensitive type of deo...then possibly :D

Thanks Mr. She tried both at the start and at the end, but it just wouldn't work. I guess if anyone is desperate for points, they can call CS on Monday and explain. They will probably add the points on to your card. I'm not calling them though, I have more than enough points, I was just trying to get rid of my vouchers.

I'm thinking the 2 x MEN'S GWP are going back tomorrow. Wanna change them for the WOMEN'S ones. Apparently they are a lot better.

Mimi has had an idea, probably won't work, but here goes. Buy a MEN'S TIME DELAY product. Use the 10% off (found in the little men's magazine), use ACM voucher for 100 extra points, use magazine voucher for 200 extra points. Probably won't work, but worth giving it a shot?

Personally, if I really want something, I'll get it before the sale at full price.

Get it again at 50% off and take the full price one back.

Get it again at 75% off and the take the 50% off one back.

Get it again at 90% off, etc! :D

And i do...exactly the same :) Hear hear Dave

Anyone tried mixing and matching ladies and mens products to make the total £20 for a gwp? I want, £12 of mens stuff and £9 lipgloss.. tia

Also is the till still counting the suncare BOGOF as trh orginal value so e.g two £5 items = £10 towards the £20

    I believe mens No7 is still on 3for2 - isn't £12 of mens No7 just 2 items? You're doing yourself out of a free 3rd item.

    Plus, aren't the £6 items now £6.50?

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong?
