TK Maxx - Minimum Customer Service!

  • I used to be a manager for tk maxx.

It is VERY easy to trace a purchase from a bank statement-they have a system which they can type in a date and then go through the till rolls for that day-they can even filter by amount, so if they look for the total on the statement it would be easy enough to find, however, it does take about 15 minutes. If there are multiple items on the receipt they can also trace what the codes match up to. again dependent on how many items are on it would depend how long this took.

As OP said, the CSM couldn't be bothered to look through this sytem. I would phone the store and ask to speak to the Store Manager and if they are not there the Deputy Manager ( make sure it is not just the duty manager, as it could very well be the CSM!) Explain the situation to them, give them the date of purchase, total amount you spent, and the last 4 digits of your card number they will be able to trace this for you. If you are still meeting with resistance, i would then call the customer service number and they more often than not will get the store to do the refund.

Im saying in reality no one will take a bank statement
I think you've lost this one edna :p
Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.

All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional
  • Holly, Im an Uggaholic, so when I saw these in TKMaxx I headed straight for them. They are inferior. The soles are nowhere near as thick as uggs and the rubber is quite soft and spongy.

Genuine Uggs had a problem with the toes wearing through after a few months, which Ugg rectified for most customers immediately, sounds like from fluffy's description this is what is happening on the heel of the boot.

Yes! Thank you! The soles are really quite soft and spongy and the boot is an Ugg type sheepskin. As I stated before, the rest of the boot is in perfect condition.....it is just the rubbery heel/sole which has the problem. Honestly, if they had been abused in some way, surely there would be damage to another part of the boot. This was certainly not the case. Thanks for your explanation Pulliptears.:A

Wow! Thanks. I knew they could trace the purchase from the bank statement and by his own admittance ("it would take more than ten minutes, so I cant be bothered") so did the CS manager. Thanks for your help!:A

Listen, the arguement isn't flawed, its an arguement, that statement wont show an item, it will show a shop, location and sometimes the TXN number.

Everytime Ive rang consumer direct they don't want to help they refer me to the retailer again.

How come when I'm reasonable I get things and when people follow the bad advice like the ones of this poster they get no where

This is not just the advice of the posters......I have been in touch with my local Trading Standards office who say that a bank statement will suffice as proof of purchase. This surely cannot be bad advice?
