Digi TV Aerial

How can we spell this out simply, you need a decent aerial for digital reception unlike analogue where it is possible to get a picture with a poor aerial, digital will just give no signal unless you have an aerial that is capable of receiving a strong signal, the further you are from the TV transmitter the weaker the signal is and you require an aerial that is capable of pulling in a good signal.
Your downstairs TV works OK because you have the correct outdoor aerial, you have tried a indoor set top aerial on your upstairs TV and get no signal so there is no point in buying another indoor aerial, the choice is either get a second outdoor aerial or use the existing aerial and split the signal which could give you poor reception on your main TV in which case you may need an amplifier.
What a splendidly sensible reply.
Hope the OP appreciates it0 -
Of course there is a third option, she could move nearer to the transmitter
This despite the fact the local relay transmitter is less than 1km away and North Hessary Tor is easily picked up.
Both 90 degrees from where he's pointing.Move along, nothing to see.0 -
