Last time we asked in clarks for shoe boxes they gave us this advice, if you go to a large shopping centre or town and are going to be there for a while ask when you first get there and they will save them for you then go back at the end of your shopping trip to pick them up. That way any boxes that people buying shoes do not want get saved for you rather than ripped up.0

I think at this time of year, all the shoe shops keep their boxes. Whenever I have been in to Clarks to ask, they usually offer me a nice selection, including boot boxes if you have something particularly big to send.
THanks for all the support of this idea. Of course, I dont give a hoot whether people offer their boxes to OCC or Romanian charity, what I think it so touching is that so many people are prepared to offer something to a stranger.“All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt.” Charles M Schulz0 -
For several years now, we've sent our shoeboxes through Smile International, who work through Europe, Asia, and Africa. We are able to take the boxes to the warehouse in Kent and are given photographs of the trip upon their return. It's nice to see where the boxes go, and how much they are appriciated!Best 2018 wins: £1500, £500 John Lewis voucherBest 2019 wins: 18 of the latest DVDsBest 2020 wins: £100 cash 2021 wins: 130 books 2021 wins: Jubilee silver necklace 2023: 8xfootball shirts, Spar vouchers, £200 Tesco voucher,0

Hi, we don't do Samaritans Purse any more as I believe charity should be without strings. If a mother is desperate and hungry and someone opposite her has food in one hand and a bible in the other, I think I know what will happen. And that is what I believe Samaritans Purse know as well.
So we do Link Romania as well, and very nice people they are too, doing sterling work.Cogito ergo sum. Google it you lazy sod !!0 -

Last year we done 4 boxes, even though money is tight this yr we are still doing something, so far Ive done 1 box and may do another next week.
Ive done 1 for a girl, fairy bracelets (free i won them), fairy beaker (£1.50), pack 2 asda kids toothbrushes (90p), asda berry toothpaste (80p),princess flannel (£1.50), soap in shape of a shoe (£1), castle shaped lipgloss (£1), diary (£1), animal pencil and rubber set (£1), teddy (£1), gloves (87p), flashing blinker that floats in the bath (£1), pink hair bands (£1), barbie (£3.50), 2 x love hearts (30p). Just hope thats ok and she likes it.
Just worked out and inc donation Ive spent about £19 on 1 box! But then this year after watching the video I felt sorry for them and didnt want to buy all toys from the £ shop for them to break a few days later as that would be more upsetting than not getting anything.Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -
I think shoebox appeals are great but I would NOT recommend anything with the Samaritans purse. More info on them here. Instead I do shoeboxes for link romania and local toy appeals (google "toy appeal *your home town*" and you'll soon find one close to you).
looked at your samaritans purse link, dont see why your against them though? they go to several diff countries as opposed to just romaniaWins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0
