Operation Christmas Child 1st-18th November

I can very much see your point but if we all think like this wont the children who live in the areas Samaritan's purse cover be left out?
It is called Operation Christmas Child and Christmas is a christian event and celebration so I see no reason wrong with them including a leaflet what tells the child/family what Christmas is all about. I don't think buy them including a leaflet they
are "preaching hatred against people of other faiths".
Maybe I am missing the point but I never did understand why people celebrate Christmas if they don't believe in Christ? Christmas is not about gifts or dinner or family gathering, its the birthday of Christ. Presents, dinner and seeing long lost family are bonuses. On Eid the school asked us to send it gifts and food for people in poor country's. We did and it would not have bothered me in the slightest if they included Muslim leaflets as Eid is a Muslim event. If you choose to celebrate Christmas then you must remember the meaning of the day, which is all I believe Samaritan's Purse are doing.
Au contrare, I think that in the 21st century, most peoples only religious connection with Christmas is in the first 5 letters of the word. I feel that Christmas is like words that lose and change their meaning over time -
there will be sticklers who will stick with the original, and there will be those who adapt it to fit in with themselves.
I'm personally not a religious person, but I relish 'Christmas time' every year as a time to see family, eat well and party in the cold. I don't open presents on boxing day, so why should I stop calling this holiday time 'Christmas' even though I don't attribute any of my time to thinking about a messiah being born.0 -
I have donated boxes to Blythswood Care in the past, sorry couldn't find deadlines but they collect from all over Britain.

I have included both in my box!0 -

I never suggested you stop calling your holiday time Christmas.
What you call it is your own business. But if its just holiday time to you why are you not the same with Eid, Ramadam, Diwali and Hanika.
I have no problem with my box going to any child of any religion, colour, creed, and with any leaflets as long as the child that receives it is happy.
Wither you like it or not you celebrating Christmas is celebrating the Christian religion. Christmas would not exist with out the Christian religion.
No wonder these charities want to include leaflets to remind people what Christmas is all about. I guess they are tired of people using a day that is so special to them as a holiday and an excuse to stuff their face with turkey. I am sure any religion would be upset by this.0 -
