There's a bit right down at the bottom of the screen (left hand side) saying Add a Business - just click on that and add the details. Then you can review it.

Also, try just putting town name in the search and not specifying shops or nightclubs. It then brings up a list of places that you will recognise but probably hadn't thought to review. I did this and found loads of places I knew well but couldn't think of them when I was trying to think of local shops or whatever to review.

Hi I have written a few reviews so far (confirmed as a local exert). but just wanted to know if this offer is just for November? i.e. do i need to spend a lot of time over the next couple of days making more money?

Yes....The email I received said the offer is only for the reviews written between 5th of Nov to 5th of Dec.....

Thanks for that Scaredy Cat - as far as I can tell there are a lot of businesses in my area that haven't been reviewed yet. Guess what I will be doing this evening?? lol

its a job with a short life when you have reviewed everything thats it!

i dont know if i agree with this anyway. anyone could write anything about a business say they had a grudge or wanted to mess around you could damage a business? Do the business owners know that they are being reviewed?

Surely that applies to any of the review sites out there - and there do seem to be a lot of them. Business owners have the facility to make their own comments, and I'm sure if anything was totally untrue it would be deleted - but it is meant to be our own personal opinions. I have written both negative and positive reviews - but these are just based on my own experience of a business. That's what they want.

i bet some business owners dont know they exist, i know someone with a business and i know that they dont know about this site! oh well. im not sure i like the idea and who would know what was true and what wasnt?

Having just done the Qype thing I don't know if I have it in me to start all over again and write even more reviews

I'm sure you're right that many business owners don't know the site exists. The point I am trying to make (admittedly I'm not doing it very well ) is that I'm equally sure business owners don't know Qype exists, or Dooyoo, or Ciao, or whatever the others are called. Yet it appears you only have misgivings about bview, not about the others. I'm just saying they are one of a number of review sites.

I don't know what mechanism they have in place to ensure the honesty of the reviews, but neither do I know what mechanisms the other sites have in place. I don't know the legal issues either - I'm sure the review site administrators will have looked into that side of things. I think review sites are basically a good idea, and they do help me if I want to know more about an organisation or a product.

Look at Amazon. I VERY nearly bought toy for my son, but decided against it having read some bad reviews on Amazon. That was useful, and I think saved me some money because the reviews pointed me towards a similar but cheaper toy. I'd hate to think we were all prevented from writing and reading reviews just because the business owners were not aware of them.

I guess, and this is just a guess, that the best way to ensure honesty is for lots of people to write the reviews of the same place and then readers can read a selection of reviews and make their own mind up if one person simply has a grudge.
