Hiya, need a little bit of help.
My mum's hamper has turned out to have a bit of a cupcake theme:D. Have got some Dove stuff as that's what she wanted. Made a couple of the flannel cupcakes, then found some cupcake bath bombs in the local Home Bargains. Think I need a cupcake candle now.
The thing is, I would like to try and make a big cupcake to put it all in, I have a nice soft white towel to cover the top (thank you nescafe coffee beans :rotfl:) but am having trouble trying to think of how to do the cake case bit. I thought maybe corrugated cardboard painted ? but don't know where I can get any, done a search and its a bit expensive.
Soooooo any ideas?
Where I work we flatpack cardboard boxes and they go for recycling do you know anyone that could get you a box that you could cut up and use? Alternatively you could buy a bin as the base and them put the towel over the top?
Hope this helps0 -
Almost at the end of my hamper making now but still got one to do for aunty and uncle. They are very awkward to buy for, only use expensive toiletries, , no particular hobbies etc. have decided to do them one with some home made goodies and a bottle of their favourite whisky.
So far I have:
home made orange marmalade
home made lemon marmalade
home made apple and blackberry jam
home made rhubarb jam
home made green tomato chutney
bottle of famous grouse whisky
I have a nice basket with a handle, thinking of lining with straw, then doing the jars with brown paper lid covers tied with raffia, and some similar labels. Sort of country/rustic theme.
Looking for ideas for a few more things to add, I could do a small xmas cake I suppose, or perhaps add some nice biscuits, but want to get it finished soon so would have to be something that will stay fresh till xmas.
Any suggestions???0 -

If you have a poundland any where near they do some great baby stuff, including disney baby things and lovely bits and pieces. They do a baby set in a little zip up case like a manicure set with really useful stuff in like baby nail scissors, medecine syringes and other bits. Stuff I paid heaps for when mine were little.0

Hi I was wondering if I could have the recipes for rhubarb Jam, and the 2 marmalades you have there? I am struggling to find presents for my FIL and I think he would like this kind of thing so I am tempted to go down that route?Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
A short while ago someone posted up a link (was it you Rainmac?) to jute style bags with a window in the front which were ideal for home made Jams etc and if I remember rightly they weren't too expensive either?
Does anyone have this link please?
Thanks
EDIT: I think I have found it ... however they sell in multiples of 10 and I only want 1
