Sorry no piccy but have just put together a basket of 'tea-time' stuff for MIL's birthday.

    Tin of English Breakfast Tea
    Packet of shortbread
    Packet of chocolate cookies
    2 little crossword books
Book of quotes 'what my mother used to say'
tea cup cross stitch coaster I made
    china mug

Trouble is, it doesn't look like much.............is there anything else I can add to make it look a bit more interesting ?
Have to bear in mind she'll be 89, and can't get about very well since hip replacement.

Just to add - I took it all out of the basket and put it in a shoe box I'd covered with some pretty fabric.........everything fitted in ok and the box looks nice - be even better once I've tied a ribbon round it.
    Mary

I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

Here's the pic of the SATC hamper I did for my best friend at Christmas. The DVD of the film is only £3.99 on Play at the moment (penny cheaper on Amazon)-assuming she doesn't already have it! The TV soundtrack-pictured-is just under £3 on Amazon and the 2 movie CD's are under £5 each.
The cocktail mix I found in B&M bargains and it was under £2, I think (can't find my post with the details in!). Home Bargains might have some suitable things, if there's one nearby.
How about an ice cube tray, or those plastic ice cubes you pop in the freezer? A cocktail recipie book?

Thanks so much for that - although she already has the movie and the series in a boxed set I hadn't thought about the soundtrack CD's! That bar of Galaxy looks ideal too - wonder if they are still instore with the Sex and the City banner on the side?

Thanks to Rufusdog too - was going to use your idea of printing cocktail recipes out but found a great little pink and black recipe book in the Works for £1.99 this afternoon - when I looked at the recipe for a Cosmopolitan it actually mention Sex and the City :D

Great idea about the fresh fruit too - going to get some lemons and limes - thanks for your help ladies:T

Galaxy-It would be old stock, so perhaps try places where the turnover isn't too high on them. Small newsagents, maybe?
Got mine in the £1 shop, but that was months ago. But I'm sure I've seen them somewhere recently-just can't remember where...sorry!

Perhaps you could also give your friend the magazine "Vogue" - Carrie reads it and she also was doing a column for Vogue in one of the series! Just an idea. Also ow about a notebook or something with that idea as Carrie is a writer (something with shoes on it petrhaps or even a mug with shoes on. I have a Born to Shop mug saying "if you find the right pair of shoes buy it in every colour!" - something like that! Also on ebay you can pick up cute trolley coin keyrings saying "born to shop", just things to do with shopping might be a good idea and maybe some foot gel thingies to go in the heels!

Those mugs are in our local ASDA and are only about £2 though they look a lot more expensive!

    Hi
My daughter (16) is leaving school in a couple of weeks time to start her first job. She is going to be a Dental Nurse. I was thinking of making her a hamper but do not really have any ideas of what to put in it.
    Can any of you help.
    Thanks
Make the most of your days, enjoy your life.
