Hi Jane
yes, she likes anything Japanese, even if she doesn't really like the taste of it. :rotfl: A friend is teaching her Japanese and she loves the cartoon - the name escapes me with the Japanese characters well more CGI animation I think,. They have found a Japanese flag and are going to buy her a kimono dress, but trying to think of more things...
or how about one of these: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Japanese-Lucky-Cat-beads-Maneki-Neko-Bracelet_W0QQitemZ310094254907QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_WSJL_Wholesale_GL?hash=item310094254907&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14
Sorry about the massive linksI don't know how to make them smaller. Both items are things I've bought my daughters japan-mad friends

All these hampers look so lovely! :T
I have been inspired by this board to do a hamper for my mum for mother's day. I bought a set of 4 baskets from Ikea for £5.89 (I know aren't the cheapest but nowhere else local sells any), some mother's day cello with pink and sage flower design from ebay of 3M and a matching ribbon for £3.05 (inc P+P).
Just waiting for it to arrive now and then make up the hamper of a cream pashmina, 2 DVD's, a book and cd. Then just a couple of bunches of daffies to finish off on the day.
Total price came in at £20 on gifts, £3 on cello and £1.50 on a basket
I'm really pleased at this as before I would have spent probably £35+ on flowers being delivered. I have made a card to accompany it and will be making lunch on that day too:j
I'm now making a little list of ideas for my brother's brithday present in the summer as he is a bit of a nightmare to buy for!
Then it's onto making lists and keeping an eye out for Christmas ones too!
This thread and board is very inspirational and helping me budget much better for christmas and buy more thoughful gifts :Afinal unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -

I'm very pleased with it all if I'm honest. It's my first ever hamper! I admit my cello wrapping technique could definitely be improvedbut I think it's OK for my first attempt and it's DONE now - I refuse to fight with it for any longer!

JaneLiz Well done:T :T thats a fabulous hamper, lots of goodies and under budget too. I would love that book " 100ways for a Cat "for my mums hamper. Her cat has her wrapped around it's little paw.
Be warned creating hampers is very addictive, I did my first one a couple of weeks ago and now I'm doing 5th & 6th. A mothers day one and a gardening one.0 -
Thanks
I think I got 100 ways cat book from eBay - or maybe Amazon, I can't remember. It's also £3.59 in WHSmith at the moment - £3.99 in Waterstones.
