Just had my weekly Monday 8:12 phone call from my mother.

She must have liked her basket as she told me she's sending the basket (which I pinched off her in the first place) and cellophane back for a refill for next year :rotfl:. At least that will be easy to sort out.

has anyone seen any pink baskets or a similar type of box container thingy anywhere? I've got all the bits for one for my friends birthday but can't find anything pink to put it in.

Is it you who is up this way in the north east? I can't remember who is where now but if it is you then the interflora shop in Blyth has a catalogue of baskets and wicker style pots which are reasonably cheap and they can order them in for you and sell them to you. They are lovely in that shop :) Failing that then try your local interflora and maybe they are as nice as mine :)

  • thanks Rusty have you been talking to OH? He wants us to move up there as he works in Newcastle a lot but our house is in serious need of repairs before anyone would consider buying it:rotfl:.

We're right near the Humber bridge at the moment - hadn't thought of the florist - I'm having a right dim day :o

Have I been talking to your OH? ... you have to move up here :D I love it up here and it was the best move I ever made, I have never been so happy in a place before :D ......

I know where the humber bridge is aswell ... which side are you? My aunt and gran live just the other side of Hull :D just ask in the florist as they will sometimes sell you them at cost ... failing that not sure on when you have to have it by but look in card shops as it is around now they start to bring the pastel coloured boxes out ready for spring/easter/mothers day etc so you may find something suitable there?

Glad you love it - I seem to get happier the further North I move am originally from Essex :p. Would move tomorrow if we could as I could then chuck in my carp job - talking of carp not sure how we would move the fish or the budgies though :rotfl:.

We are just on the South side of the bridge in a little village can almost see the bridge out the bedroom window :p.

I am a bit disheartened, been to my grans today and while she said she liked my hamper, she kept going on about how good every ones else present was. She was saying how they have made an effort but liked mine better as I choose it but I could tell she was just being nice.

I tried to tell her that I was making her a special hamper for her 70th but instead of giving me ideas as I was hoping she might. She just went on and on about how her Paddy and Craig are planning something. This is her too sons and all she went on about today she did not seem that interested in me. Yet I am the person that makes all the effort all year round not just on special occasions.

    Sorry moan over, right Question?

Would it be mega sad if I made myself a Valentines hamper, just something to keep my mind happy. I am not a lover of valentines day as I have been a single mum from the start. I was thinking of buying a little thing each week, for a night in type thing, pamper in the bath for when my little one is in bed. A nice hot soak with some fav choc's (would this be unhygenic to eat choc in the bath room so close to the bog)

Don't be disheartened. I too am a person who makes the effort all the time and where some family members are concerned they don't seem to notice but rave about others who've made no blooming effort at all...

I absolutely don't think it would be sad to make yourself a hamper. I think it's such a lovely idea I'd like you to PM me your address so I can send you a little something to add to it if that would be ok?

rainmac- could it be your inlaws are showing off the hamper! unless they haven't even unwrapped the cellophane? we made hampers for both mums and my sis, who all appeared to love them. i was surprised when i visited mil to see the hamper intact in the bathroom (pamper hamper) but i suppose it's where she will use it, plus she can show it off to visitors.

Hi do you have a morrisons near you? My one is selling large pink container boxes. My pound stop is selling loads of pink car bits, also birthdays are selling massive pink piggy banks with sayings like 'saving for a rainy day'.
if you really wanted this I could probably send it to you it may have to be some sort of special delivery, although we would have towork out something. Up to you? I could post pictures and stuff?
