  • Hi Esther,

The other places I would look would be Instore (Poundstretcher), B&M (Au naturel), Home Bargains... Charity shops perhaps, Poundland sometimes has them

I have been reading a book about a sustainable, environmentally friendly Christmas and the woman in that had some great ideas, show boxes, wrapping things in plantpots, using tea towels as wrapping paper, using Newspaper and red ribbon, brown paper, I say scout around your house and you will probably find something suitable :)

Thanks Sian, I'm off out to look at B&M's and Asda in a bit. Will keep in mind the boxes etc around the house. Liked the idea of baskets as they can keep and reuse afterwards. Will try the charity shops on the way in case.

    The hampers sound lovely sian

Found the cellophane that went missing last week...................lol Enough to do ex foster girls hamper and thats baskets all done. The rest are odd presents I get for folk.
Think I went a bit over my budget with ex foster girl.......

Bath Towel, hand towel and flannel.......white with fringe...........£2.00
    Jewellry box.......................................................................£1.00
Bath oils (one's an oil the other a body spray)..........................£3.00
    Scrunchie loofah.................................................................£1.00
    Cream candle holder with candle.................................................50p
Book about shoes (she's mad about them).....................................50p
    4 chocolate candles.............................................................£1.00
    Door hanger........................................................................£3.50
    Safe keeping jar...................cost nothing...................................-
    Cream lavender filled little cushions..........................................£1.00
Cream soap (gift wrapped with cream rose on top)..........................50p

All the stuff came from local charity shop except door hanger - bit way over my original budget of £5 per person...............still she's worth it.

Sorry to ask an annoying question but can anyone recommend an ebay seller, I'm after some cellophane bags for homemade cookie Christmas gifts (not the 'cone' shape ones, I've bought those already :) ). Can anyone recommend a seller that dispatches quickly, I've left it a little late as the last posting date is tomorrow!

Well I've bought 20 cello bags from eBay seller: 'Paperbagsetc' for my hm Christmas cookies. Sent the seller a message to confirm they can send today - they are going to and by first class at no extra charge :D Very pleased! Shouldn't have any problems, my post has been fine so far *fingers crossed*. Hope this helps someone else too, if you're daft like me and have left it till last minute! :rotfl:
    The £2.00 Coin Savers Club = approx £22.00  :j.. The 20p Savers Club = £17.80.

  • Just done what I hope will be my last hamper for this Christmas, although who knows....

    It's for my Dad, step-Mum and brothers (14 & 17)- a family after-dinner hamper.

    Cost is as follows:
Basket- £4 from The Pier  . More than I usually spend on baskets but I really wanted a dark one and couldn't fine one anywhere else.
Port- free (unwanted gift last year)
    After-dinner mints- £2.80
    Coffee- free from work
    Biscuits- £1.99
    Snowman soups- £1.50ish each
Total= £11.79 which I'm happy with for the four of them.

With snowman soup stood up for pic-
