i disagree slightly, my wifes nan and friend flew from LHR in Sept 08 to Seattle with BA and got business class upgrade free of charge and just got asked at the desk if they wanted to upgrade! They loved the free G+T's i tell ya!

Quite clearly states 1 vegetarian meal as well on this each way which will please the wife.

At what time can you online check in before the flight anyone?

As both the MAN-LHR and LHR-SFO are with BA then you should be able to check your luggage through to final destination, same with the return.
