  • I am contacting my credit card comapny tonight as expedia have told me the exact same thing again.

Usual case of the customer having to take the flak whilst everone else gets off scot free.

Depending on their reply I'm going to get in touch with my credit card provider and see what they can do. i can see no reason for them to hold onto the money for so long other than to make interest on my cash as if they haven't inconvenienced me enough already.

Well I have contacted the credit card company and they say Ive got to wait.
Bmi advised the refund time should be 14 days.
and Expedia are advising upto 12 weeks even though the original person I spoke to said 2 weeks which has elasped.

Jasper27 if you have any more luck let me know.
  • guys i am booked via opodo from manc - chicago - san fran and then back san fran - chicago - manc and after chasing opodo to find out if there is a problem, they have admitted there is and offered me a full refund or different flights...
we are doing late april and early may.

    the flight option is.... BA...

    Manc - London Heathrow
London Heathrow - San Francisco with BA boing 747

Then back the same way basically..

is this an ok flight? its good to get upgraded to a direct out of london heathrow as there isn't a change out of UK.

We don't mind the manc - london trip at all, this is fine.

Any experiences of BA on this flight people?

I have also registered for BA's world traveller scheme (i think thats what it is) and have a card, but no points on it yet. Will this enable me to get an upgrade or how do i get points on it if I book this? do i do it direct through opodo or ring BA direct?

I also need vegetarian meals booked both ways? through opodo or ba and the same with seats (opodo or BA?)

    Any help greatfully received!

    Hi Rich.

First of all, this isn't a bad option and the direct Heathrow to San Francisco flight should be fine. BA is a good option in economy. You won't earn too many miles from via the BA Executive Club as they don't give much milage credit for flying in economy. You will earn something though, so it is worth doing it.

You can book vegetarian meals via Opodo or BA, the main thing is to get it confirmed. The one downside to BA is that you can't reserve seats in advance as this is only an option to BA Exec Silver or Gold card holders. It is basically a scramble for decent seats when online check-in opens, so if you can get online when this opens, you should get a decent seat.

    Hope this helps.

You can use T's clubcard points for BAs scheme - but be warned, if you ask for a special meal, dont hold your breath for an upgrade- (told to me by BA employee) chances are, you wont get one.

Can anyone provide a summary of the remaining non-stop flights
from Manchester to the USA/Canada from next May onwards?

As far as I can tell:

    - Newark (Continental)
    - New York JFK (Delta)
    - Chicago (American)
    - Philadelphia (US Airways)
    - Atlanta (Delta)
    - Orlando (Virgin)
    - Orlando Sanford (various charters)

    Have I missed any?

    What about Antigua?

Don't hold your breath full stop for an upgrade with no status on BA. Unless they are oversold in economy, it isn't going to happen.

And it was flown by BMI who finish all long haul operations in Manchester in April, so no scheduled services beyond then to Antigua

    Thanks for that very useful.

I have rang opodo and accepted the flights. Pretty good deal, as we got the bmi flights pretty darn cheap and decided the in direct would be the hit we would take for this.

Now we have a direct flight out, albeit with an internal domestic transfer.

Any idea if we will have to collect our baggage from the manchester flight at heathrow or will it get auto routed through to our international flight and we book in at LHR as internal passengers?? and vice versa coming back at LHR? pick up baggage and rebook it in to the domestic to manchester?

IO have checked the points scheme from \ba i am on and its the BAA worldpoints and its only for shopping so won't really get anything for that or the flight! |So won't bother!

Thanks so far for the information guys!

    Rich
