By the way, is everybody on the site clued up about Ryanair's gift vouchers scheme? This really does appear to be a rip off. I have come across loads of stories, so stay well clear. Check out this link to the Irish Times:

This was mentioned on Watchdog a little while ago and is also clearly mentioned on the companies website, you've learnt your lesson and theres no point in complaining about it now, shut up and go awayThey have the internet on computers now?! - Homer Simpson

Can someone help me please, I believe I am in a similar situation.....
I recently booked some flights to Poland with Ryanair, the website said the charge was £10 each way. So I proceeded booking, with no bags, and online check-in. The total cost on the invoice page was £20. I booked with Visa Electron so the Ryanair site said they will debit the card £20. I agreed to this, and booked.
They have now debited me £20. I can't believe I've been ripped off in this way?! Someone must be able to help me?! :beer:0 -
i've changed my mind,
i'll have £4 each way on my bet.0 -

They charged me £8.00 for each ticket each way for paying with a Debit card, yes a debit card not a credit card. The message states as you have chosen to pay via debit card the additional £32.00 is payable. I can not believe that you have to pay to pay ? Does anyone know if this is legal? Its not as if they have a shop you can go and pay at or send a cheque etc. I would really appreciate some help with this it seems totally unreasonable.
Yes, it is really shocking. And on top of that, they expect you to pay for the bus to the airport, which is another 8 pounds each way.
I have a great money-saving tip. Book a business class ticket with Emirates. Your fare will include a chauffeur-driven limousine to pick you up from your home and take you to the airport. And there are absolutely no charges for paying.0 -
People are getting too carried away here. The fact is - whether you agree with the OP or not, £8 to pay by debit card is actually a rip off. And dont try and dress it up by saying "well the flight was only a fiver" Costs should be transparent, if Ryanair are putting their card fees so highly to help offset their discounted seats then this is wrong.
Imagine if you went to Asda and bought £50 worth of shopping only to get to the till to be told "thats £58 please" 15 mins later there would be a rip off thread on here.0 -
