VM still do a free TV package with the phone line, this is the M package, however that doesn't include Sky1, this is comparable to Freeview (maybe you meant this went you said digibox, as a digibox is just shortened word for digital box, first used by Sky, but as all current boxes are digital, fits in with satellite, cable or Freeview).

The previous package the TW did was the Starter TV package and that came free for a while with the broadband. They did a few various packages, so depends on which you were on.

I'd wait until the day and see what happens. As some VM insiders are saying if it was included before it will be now, but now staff on the phones are saying otherwise (though they are usually the last to know).

My source is solid - Sky One is coming on starter TV and higher. If you have M tv you will not receive it and will have to upgrade if you wish to.

Starter tv is a discontinued package that costs £5.50 per month - the way to tell if you have it is to look at your bill on page 3 if it says starter tv you are fine.

Yeah, that was what my 'insider' source mentioned (and why I posted it earlier), that's why I was a little surprised to hear otherwise - though maybe should not have been surprised as CS are usually the last to know.

I used to be on the starter TV package, though I was getting that free with the broadband which was discount by £5 too (just had the starter TV and broadband), had that extended for another year, then was offered a better retentions deal with phone, broadband and now XL TV.

Yeah it is a right PITA. I'm always awake and watching TV this time of night, (01:00 during BST and 0:00 during GMT). I often forget until it is too late, not to touch the box/remote otherwise it hangs, annoying when you press fast forward on a VOD programme or rewind, only to find you are now locked out for anything from a couple of minutes to 20 or 30 mins. You think to yourself do you wait or do you press the reset button.

Staff do know this. Its just not promoted say on the website as the starter TV pack is no longer available.

We've had SKYPLUS for a month and think it's FANTASTIC. Originally had Movies2 but decided to cancel that after 1st month because we had so many fantastic programmes to choose from we just didn't bother with the films. Found the lovely customer service girls very helpful and it was actually a pleasure dealing with them. I love SKYPLUS because you can also record 2 different progammes whilst watching a recording or a different programme. Had no desire for Sky but so glad I changed my mind.
