Thanks for that! Made my day as we have just moved to Virgin from Sky, as a cost cutting measure!
I've got Sky+ and would happily stick with Sky but I have a forest outside my front door and lose my signal every time it rains or its windy. Hearing that Virgin are getting the Sky channels back I called them today but unless anyone knows any different it'll actually cost me more each month?!

I currently pay £37 a month (£13 to BT, 3 mix with Sky £19 & £5 Talk unlimited) & I have a digi-eye so I can watch TV & control the box in the lounge from my bedroom.

£75 for the V+ box isn't too bad but to have: L TV package, M broadband & XL phone will cost £42.95 a month or £48.45 a month with XL TV package.
Plus Virgin would want me to buy another set top box & pay £5 a month to watch TV in my bedroom.

    Also Virgin say they don't have More 4 +1 or Sci-Fi +1??
  • I phoned Virgin today to renegotiate my contract as it has gone up in price at the end of yet another 12 months (since I last renegotiated.) I was getting XL tv, talk unlimited and M broadband for £30 (now being charged £7.95 for talk unlimited as well.) Whilst waiting on hold, there was a recorded message saying Sky channels coming back this month and this was reiterated by the lady I spoke to. Just reduced my tv package to L and upped my broadband to L and gone for talk weekends - £33. Anyone who is looking at changing to Virgin, make sure you go on the cash back sites because they are offering £65 cash back at the moment.

May I ask what you said in order to get a new deal as I didn't think you could keep renegotiating?

  • DH very pleased to have sky sports news back, and DD1 very happy to be getting sky1!
  • I guess that means we'll be gaining another HD channel with Sky Arts HD?

Mine's an additional box in the household so I get the XL package plus XL broadband for £37.00.

Disagree, not Techie as this is about buying the best digital TV service that suits you. This news has drastically affected that choice.
