OhDear Bankrupt! 3-11-08 : and my OH ChelseaBun not BR

Mostly for my benefit, I have edited this to pull all our threads together. It may be useful for any that wish to see the whole of our story from the beginning, and how quickly the whole thing can happen. These links were put together 12-12-08 (already 5 weeks since BR!). I told you it was quick.
Thanks to my OH (ChelseaBun) for doing most of the reading and research. She had read many many threads before her first thread posted on this board.

1-11-08 Loads of form questions and the lead up to BR. This is the last of the other threads. I decided to start this thread, which proved to be a wise decision in the wake of Phil's super smiley and the impact it had on the screen!

I have then added any other questions and updates to this thread as it keeps our whole story together (sort of) which I know can be useful to newbies and to myself. Back to the original unedited entry of 3-11-08.
Hi All,
A fairly simple morning, but it's been a very long day.
ChelseaBun and I got to the court nice and early, so we managed to be the first to be seen by the clerk. Which was just before the waiting room filled!
Hardly any wait to see the Judge. I went in alone, it was just him and me. No gowns or wigs (the Judge didn't either),- very disappointed. He was very nice, just made sure that I had sought advice and was fully aware of the implications.
Just over an hour later I spoke to someone at the OR's office on the phone, mostly for them to check whether there was any immediate action required (ie less than a week). I should know when my appointment is in about a week.
That was it. In and out inside of 2 hours. It actually felt a bit of an anticlimax! I don't quite know what I was expecting, maybe a drum roll followed by the banging of a gong! Or maybe a fanfare of trumpets to accompany the proclamation? No nothing!
We then went to get our eyes tested, but that's a whole different story. So I guess that means we can get back to the other (more normal?) joys of life.:rotfl:We did manage a celebratory cup of coffee and a cake. I also managed to by some new slippers before the old ones send me head first down the stairs! Can being a Bankrupt get any better than this?
Just got to wait for the OR appointment now. I think I'll be more glad when that is done. The clerk even joked with us about the amount of paperwork that I've let myself in for!:j
Anyway, thanks for all your help and support on this first leg.
I'm sure ChelseaBun will be on later, but it might be after dinner.;)
