In part, I wish I hadn't put it in, but he does have the ability to be completely unreasonable! I also wanted to be upfront with OR in case it came to light. I didn't want to be seen to be preferring a creditor. I really didn't want to hide anything! That brother can do things in a very strange way, so anything is possible! I would have repaid him the whole £5k in 2002 if he hadn't asked for £15K!! I used to work for him (back in the 80's) and I could see that the VAT inspector used to dread visiting him, and leave looking totally confused!:rotfl:He is my brother, but he is very odd!

    Anyway, what's ironing!

An update on my loan from my brother.

He was very understanding and brotherly. I still intend to repay him post BR, but I didn't tell him that! So if he continues to be brotherly, so will I.

    On another matter:

MBNA were one of my creditors. I didn't inform them of BR, but would have done if they had a person ring me. Instead they had a computer ring me, and expected me to hold for an adviser. Life's too short for me to waste my time that way!

Anyway, it would appear that they have not heard from OR either and have passed my account to RMA. They have humans ring me, but apparently not anyone with a brain!

First call Monday evening at 7.56 - I told them was BR.
Then at 7.58 - they rang again! This time they wanted more details like my BR number. I then had to hold, - not told why, but I guess it was to check IS website. They then came back to me to tell me I was correct. Der..!
OK so message received and understood. ......no!

Tues morning whist taking FIL to doctors, I missed 2 calls from them in close succession.

Wed morning (today) same again 2 calls whilst I was teaching.

Why can't they update their files? Why can't they ring when I can answer? I could do with a laugh!:D

I'm glad they've only got my mobile, as I didn't give them our new landline number when we moved.

What I find most frustrating is why these businesses are so incompetent.

I went bc in nov 07 and had 2 seperate accounts both in my name with a very well know catalogue. They were still ringing me in jan asking for payment to the one account but not the other. They even asked for a copy of my bc order:confused: . I just sent all letters to the OR. They eventually got the message. Tiresome as it may be, all goes quiet eventually and you then become norman no mates:rotfl: .Dx

Just checked my BR details on IS website, and I've just noticed that for my former address the postcode reads XXxx 9OG instead of 9QG. Should I point this out to OR and will it mean that it will all have to go in the paper again? Or Shall I leave it? I can't see that it makes any difference to anything, but should I notify?

    :beer:in advance of thoughts.

Hi OD - glad your brother is acting brotherly - lets see how long he can hold out! hehe!

I don't think the small discrepancy on the IS file makes much different but I'm sure someone will correct me.

So you had a driving lesson? Well done.

Not sure but is there not a thing you click on if any of the details are wrong?

If the OR has that postcode down for you how the hell will he get your EDREV letter to you:confused: :rotfl:

It's only on the IS website, not the paperwork, and it's for a previous address. So I'm not going to bother!
    Thanks, OD:beer:

Gosh! Over a month since I gave an update and already over 2 months (1 sixth) into my BR.

December saw OR enquiries into exact storage location of old touring caravan (£ 500 - 1500) in order for them to ask a local (to the caravan) examination and valuation. I think they're wasting their money, but maybe they think I'm hiding a £20K caravan there! I'm not that bothered about the caravan if it makes them happy.

I'm still waiting to hear about the car. Spoke to OR 23rd Dec, she had a valuation (?) but was waiting to hear from HP co as to redemption figure (£4500ish). I've had an online offer of £4500 but retail is probably £6500 to 7000?????? So again I can't see that it worth their while. I have chased a decision on this as I need to do some advertising and it needs a major service, so I want an exemption cert before we start spending any money on those instead of food. If they do decide to take the car, then I'll have to rethink the whole business. I'm applying for loads of jobs, but no joy (hardly surprising)!

Today my OH (ChelseaBun) got a letter asking for all sorts of info about her house and trying to establish whether I have any BI in the property.

-"How long ago the property was purchased?" 2 years ago
-"How the funds used to purchase the property were raised?" Sale of her previous home
-Whether I "had any interest in any previous property from which sale proceeds were used to purchase current property?" No - never lived there - she bought it before we met
-Whether I "was ever named on the mortgage?" No - I didn't earn enough
-Whether I "contribute or have contributed to the mortgage payments or other household expenses?" As above
-Whether I'm "named on the tenancy agreement that rents the property out to the tenants?" No - it's not my house

I'm feeling a bit naffed off about how long this is dragging on. I get the feeling I'm not going to get an answer on the car until the OR is satisfied about this lastest enquiry. It would be a lot easier if I could find the file with all the house stuff in it including the tenant's lease showing that my name isn't on it. But having had all our paperwork out for BR - prior to Christmas it was all filed away. Unfortunately it looks like it's been filed in the wrong place!! Let's hope it wasn't the recycling!

    Oh dear OhDear.
