  • when I took out a mobile contract with them my signal was fine to begin with, then they got booted off the signal mast they shared and the signal became appalling but they refused to do anything about it, so for the final 10 months or so of my contract I was paying for a service I could barely use, phonecalls would come up as missed calls if i was lucky, most of the time I wouldnt get a notification that someone had tried to call.

If I was lucky enough to be able to make or receive a call then it would cut off after a few minutes-3 had first hand experience of this when I called to complain and the phone cut off 3 times during the conversation. They refused to do anything, just said that the signal was adequate in my area and that was that.

Until it came to time for me to cancel my contract :) Then they tried every trick in the book to get me to stay with them, wanting to know why I was leaving and when I told them of the problems i'd had they suddenly offered me a signal booster!!! Too little too late far as I was concerned. I wouldnt go with 3 again at all mobile wise.
  • I gave 1 month notice to cancel my contract, and a guy from their support told that's everything fine, and I dont need to pay any extra. went back home for 3 months, and then returned saw, that I have to pay for every month, and I still on the contract!!

I was trying to got an idea of what is going on, called to customer service and they started to switch my call from one to another employee, that finally I told 35 min with 7 different people, and the last one sad the same - it's not my issue, I will transfer your call. Finally - nothing!!!

+ their internet speed and coverage just dreadful. Never buy any contract or use this network. AWFUL!!!

I was thinking three is a good company so far. I have a contract with them for £33 a month but I always get more than £45. they said £4 for the administration fee as I am not in a direct debit. But I inquired how did I get the excess charge, then say simply replied, when you make a call abroad, even for 1 second we charge you £1. I was really shocked to hear that. £1 if the call get connected. then I told them to put a cap on my line( to limit my line only for £33 a month). They said yes, and the worst thing is anytime we can uncap, but we can't re cap, and they don't have any facility to freeze the line if we are months away from the country. Three doesn't have a good connection: I know it very well as a user, but I thought yet they are moderately ok. But now I found why everyone I meet has a negative image about Three.
Furthermore the phone I got from them Samsung Galaxy 111, couldn't retain charge. So I was abandoned many times when I was out, the phone switches off by itself, even though I charge the whole night. Literally it couldn't be charged too, I have to suffer a lot bz of that, it was like not having a phone although I had. I sent through them TWICE to repair. The first time they didn't fix it- which took 3 weeks; the second time little better. But now the phone blacks out, the second problem. sometimes I can't make a call, if I make one I can't cut it. Always I have tp take the battery out and start it. But I am not going to take to Three. I wish I should have got the contract from a better company. I will never recommend this to any.

i have been with three for a few years, have 2 broadband accounts and a phone account, had a call from three upgrades the other day and i refused to upgrade, the next day the person at the upgrade team upgraded me to a top package on both my accounts and changed my address to a london flat to get 2 free laptops,, the fraud and security team have sorted it , but i would not recommend three after this , there customer service is crap, it took my days on the phone to them to clear my name, i have not left three and will never go back no matter what good deals they have, i would rather pay a little more and have proper customer satisfaction
That sounds as though a fraudster rang you posing as Three, had you confirm the security questions for you to decline the offer, to then ring Three posing as you as you had already given them the security answers to then get an upgrade.

Three should have never sent the upgrade out to a different city but other networks have been known to do the same on occasion.

Purchased the 'one plan' 12 month sim only deal on 3rd July online. Sim turned up the next morning, transfered PAC (from GiffGaff), there and then, transfer of number went through without a hitch before 12 the next day. All email communication regarding purchase & transfer has been quick and accurate, signal is great where I live, and internet is lightning fast compared to O2's, I have had a couple of 'dropped calls to my wife on Vodafone, and I will be keeping an eye on that! But so far so good, and the tethering is saving a fortune on my tablet connection.

Best of all I took the advice on the forum, purchased through Top cashback, & hopefully will be paying £9.22 a month (it has tracked)....fingers crossed.
  • i have been with 3 for years and have never really bhad any complaints about the till now. they are completely incapable! if you have an issue with the phone they wont fix it they will come up with any excuse to avoid it but in store and over the phone.
there customer service is well.... its go bad i might as well of not bothered. according to the "manager" on the phone there is also no complaints department. so if your thinking about getting a cheap contract with them i would seriously think again. not worth the hassell.:mad::mad:
  • I can't comment on their coverage because I've not got that far yet. I have however had multiple dealings with their customer service department, since 3 have exceeded their agreed time in transferring my phone number from my old provider. They've left me stuck with no way of accepting incoming calls or texts, on either the new number that they provided, or on my old number. I use my mobile phone as my main means of contact, so I'm totally screwed and am now wondering what the impact would be of abandoning the move and going back to Vodafone.

Their customer service staff are appalling, telling constant lies to get you off the phone, telling you to wait another hour, then another 2 hours - then you find it's past their 9pm closing time so the problem is carried forward into yet another day.

I cannot stress highly enough that it is not worth dealing with this company unless you are absolutely certain that you will never need any human intervention whatsoever in anything you're planning to do with them. And don't expect anything you order online to arrive in a decent timeframe - or even arrive at all.

If you value your health or sanity, stay away.

    Hi,

I am about to change from Orange to Three mobile and have a holiday home on Ryde, Isle of Wight.

Orange coverage is ropey, how about Three.

Their coverage checker says its ok outdoor and there is a mast in Ryde itself.

    Reviews please

    thanks

You can check actual measured signal strength and data speeds for all the networks at:
    http://www.rootmetrics.com/uk/

Root Metrics use data from users themselves via an App. The coverage is mostly shown along roads (due to users driving along them), so check the predicted coverage from the operator as well.

Like all mobile networks Three have their moments. Customer Service is poor. I've spoken with O2 and found their CS excellent... However, for me Three win hands down with their "One Plan" SIM only deal. I obtain data rates to 20 Mb/s in rural East Yorkshire with an iPhone 5 (early in the morning before other users clog up the system).
  • but having had some truly dreadful experiences with customer services, I wouldn't touch a contract with them with a barge pole !
