3 (Three) Mobile network reviews please.

Hi all,

I need your reviews of Three (3) if you're currently with them, they have by far the best 3G coverage. However, after looking up reviews on the Internet most are from years ago, I know there's a thread here dedicated to them, but again from years ago.
Apprently they've improved there customer service. Please could you post your reviews before I make my move....

Thanks

  • I was with 3 when they first started out about 4 - 5 years ago and they were rubbish and I swore I would never go back.

However, I signed up with them a year ago after feeling that they had sorted themselves out a bit. I've not had a problem this year at all. I get virtually full reception all the time and not a single dropped call. I think their packages are really good value, so I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them now.

Of course that's not to say things won't go wrong. There are always bad experiences for some people no matter what company it is.
  • Thanks for the review, their packages are very appealing. I'm with Vodafone and never had a problem with them either yet all the reviews I read are bad...I suppose it's 50/50 whether you get stung or not.

I've been with 3 for a while now (nearly 3 years). Great value and excellent network coverage for me.

My issue is that there Customer service is absolutely dreadful. They can't even sort out the most minor problem. I don't know why they bother at all. Fortunately for me the problems were only minor and I could live with them.

If you can usually survive without calling customer services then they will be fine.

    ITA!!!

REtentions are non existant now as well if that matters to you.

I have had a 3 contract for 18 months, then 12 months retentions that finally ended in Sept. At the moment DH has taken a 6 month contract out with them for me as a "new customer". It is very nice not having a long tie in!

THe actual business of using and owing the phone has been fine. Even managed to use a few mins of "three like home" in Austria on holiday which has to be a bonus:T

Customer service- well I just treat it as a game really and a means of practicing my assertiveness skills - I am usually rubbish at it, but when you just keep repeating your explanation in a calm way you may get through. Mind you I did hang up on the poor guy who couldn't even understand me telling him my phone no today!

In the past few months I have ended my own contract and also ended the one I had for DH after the change of T+C- did both in writing. Just had to assertively decline all offers to take on more expensive contracts as " bargain"...:rotfl:

We had a BIG hicup as the 6 month contract phones came through as 6mo in the box and 18 on the final paperwork a few weeks later:mad: We didn't appreciate basically being called liars "because you would not have been able to get the 2000 free 3-3 minutes on a 6 month contract sir" ......Well as DH was being told this I went to the website and took a screen shot of exactly the same 6m contract wit the 2000 minutes:confused: We had to fax some stuff through but it seems sorted now.

Just (hopefully) sorted my last bill on the closed account- it came through without the loyalty discount- took 3 long and convoluted calls though and was a bit of a pain.

Sooo in summary, when I'm going through hasstle I swear I'll change provider, but then again when it works it is cheap and pretty efficient. I'm not sure, reading these threads any of the providers are any better, for more money....

try and buy from a three store. that will probably half any potential problems you may have and reduce the risk of having to contact customer services. They are probably the best network overall for coverage, as you have the three networks coverage to go at (3, orange and t-mob), all working on the same phone so to speak. why not try a 6 month deal to try them? oh, and if you do, the contract will say 18 months, but instore you will be given a letter and recipt that shows six months

Agree with the above - Always buy from a 3 store, don't trust any deal you are offered on the phone.

Coverage is only 3 and Orange though - not t-mobile

3g coverage is also t-mobile. they are having a network share roll out now. so everyone that can get t-mobile 3g coverage can also get three 3g coverage and vice versa.:p

  • i have been with three for a few years, have 2 broadband accounts and a phone account, had a call from three upgrades the other day and i refused to upgrade, the next day the person at the upgrade team upgraded me to a top package on both my accounts and changed my address to a london flat to get 2 free laptops,, the fraud and security team have sorted it , but i would not reccomend three after this , there customer service is crap, it took my days on the phone to them to clear my name, i have not left three and will never go back no matter what good deals they have, i would rather pay a little more and have proper customer satisfaction

I've been with 3 for amost 24 months now. I am happy with the coverage and have had no issues with the CS. I don't tend to call them though. I will E-Mail them through the website and normally get a call back within 24 hours. I have done this 3 times and each time, my issue was resolved with the initiall call back.

I'm been on 3 PAYG for just over 2 years and have had zero problems,
coverage (obviously depends where you are but) for me is the same as all the other networks,
customer service, called them once to give them my PAC they were fast and professional, since them I've never had to call them and can't think of a reason why I would.

but saying all that all the other networks I've been on are pretty much the same.

so to sum up: 3, is as good as O2 which is as good as vodafone which is as good as orange, ect. ect. they are all as good as each other.
