E7 seems to be consistently going downhill in all catagories.
I'm an optimist, I'm sure it will improve in the future.
At least I'm not with Bulldog.

You mean that for 1 month of 5 they were better on reliability and for 4 they were worse, and that for 2 months they were faster and for 3 they were both slower. The graphs actually show that e7 has got worse and has got to the level of bulldog and Tiscali but is still far ahead of both in customer service!
The graph also backs up my statement that e7 used to be close to Zen in all aspects. It also shows that e7 has grown massively in the last 9 months compared to Zen and obviously the network upgrades are overdue.Rex_Mundi wrote:I pay extra because I want a broadband supply that gives no problems at all (and I certainly get this). Since I joined them (approx a year), I have not had even 2 minutes of downtime or slowdowns. This is in direct contrast to the performance of E7. Even you've had problems. To infinity and beyond!0 -
Seeing as this is a moneysaving site. Let's talk about value for money...........
Zen customers pay for a reliable, unlimited internet connection. This is exactly what they get.
E7 customers pay for a reliable, unlimited internet connection. From the increasing amount of complaints, it appears that this is what a very large number are not getting.
At least we are getting the service we pay for, unlike lots of E7 customers. This makes Zens service very good value for money IMHO.How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

To Mike Paterson: I stand by ALL my comments in the earlier post.
I am not looking to convert you, because you are probably a hopeless case
However, e7even do run referral schemes, and i don't know if you involve yourself with those. I am not suggesting for a moment that you do, but if you were referring people to e7even for remuneration, then that would be immoral IMO.
My mission is not to convert individuals, but to make people aware, so they can make up their own mind for themselves.
The best way for people to do that is to follow the links in my previous post, and ask various people for their opinion. Not just e7even customers, but others also, to get a balanced picture.
It is not a good idea for people to be swayed one way or the other by biased opinion !!
Although e7even have recently started a monthly account (as you rightly said), it is unclear how it will work in practice if people decide to move on. In theory they should be able to ask for a MAC code to allow them to migrate, but many people are asking for MACs at the moment (and even prepared to lose money, just to leave the ISP) but are not getting any replies.
Want a howler ? Here, from their website network status:Current Status
Update: 6th Jan 2006 04:17.
We currently have an engineer on site and are hoping to have a resolution to the slow speeds on the bbuk realm within the next few hours. We apologise for the ongoing inconvenience this is causing our customers.
Update: 4th Jan 2006 04:51.
Engineers are still diagnosing the problem, a replacement router interface card has been ordered
and should arrive on-site tomorrow morning.
Update: 3rd Jan 2006 09:34.
Users who connect using the @bbuk realm as part of their user name, may be experiencing some packet loss on their broadband connection. We are looking into this at present and beleive it is a router interface or cable problem, further updates will be posted as more information becomes available.
Description
Planned Network Maintenance
Between the 28th December 2005 and 4th January 2006 we will becompleting the final stages of the long planned network upgrades and migration to the new distributed E7even network.
Some users will receive an email detailing a minor change they will need to make to their logging in username on their ADSL modem or router. The move to the distributed network will ensure improved performance for all customers and provide further safe guards against potential network failures in the future.
These long-awaited *upgrades* were supposed to have cleared up all the ongoing problems over the past months. In reality, all the people who suffered previously were put on a new part of the network (@bbuk realm) which immediately failed, giving them speeds even slower than dialup !!
That nonsense above (and repeated in some emails) is how they treat their customers.
Always, Always, everything will be fixed in a week, or a few day's time. No one believes them anymore.
To make matters worse, many people did not receive any email at all. The first they knew something was wrong was when they lost their connection
MAKE NOTE: If you do sign up to e7even, make sure you have a fully working dialup account with another ISP in preparation for any failures.
It may even be quicker than their 2MB broadband at times
When you say they intend to migrate you to the *new* network, Mike, then i hope for your sake that your new user login doesn't end with @bbuk
E7even are, at the moment, Impossible to contact via 'phone (switches to answer machine)
People have been so incensed they have looked up companies house registration documents, in desperation, just to get hold of a 'phone number.
But one thing that makes me smile is that the blame is placed on BT (nice piece of spin)
This particular quote of yours is really worth repeating againAs all e7 users know, e7 have been let down on 2 or 3 occasions by BT and other suppliers, but not only have they totally changed their network infrastructure to stop these issues happening in the future,
I would love to see where that came from as an excuse for their *congested* BT Centrals !!
It certainly isn't true, because if it were, then they would have all their customers on their own network, not splitting them three ways, again to ease the *congestion*.
And never mind about safeguarding the future, how about getting it sorted in the present ?
And what of Euro1Net, whose network they now share, yet deny any involvement ?
You have to realise, Mike, that your over-optimistic view of e7even is not shared by everyone, in particular long-suffering users over here0
