I have one question if I sign up for the 24 month contract will the voucher entitle a free 24 months as it seems to read only annual, am sure it is supposed to be the same as what I purchase being 24 months. Please clarify.0 -
It looks like you only get the extra year no matter what you buy !
Why not email their support as they are usually very quick to get answers. To infinity and beyond!0 -
My experience of this company is not a good one. The system since the 28th Dec, has been VERY patchy and very slow when its up amd running. You cannot get through to Technical Support, they do not reply to emails or voice mail and Customer Services is an answering machine. Simply don't go there!!!!!!!0
-
They have been completely replacing their network between 28th December and now. I personally have had no problems at all over the last few weeks and the service has been excellent as usual - but they haven't migrated me to the new network yet.To infinity and beyond!0

You get what you pay for and they are CHEAP
but lots and lots of unhappy customers [including me] but we only stay as they ask for 12 or 24 months money in advance so you are tied in to them. Thankfully I only have 3 months to go with E7even then I'm off to a decent ISP!0 -

I have to say it but there are lots of happy customers too. It would appear that the only isp that is demonstrably better is Zen (at 3 times the cost). When I did comparisons 6 months ago, e7 was even on a par with Zen ! In the last 6 months some people in some areas have had issues but these should all now be resolved with the new distributed network. As all e7 users know, e7 have been let down on 2 or 3 occasions by BT and other suppliers, but not only have they totally changed their network infrastructure to stop these issues happening in the future, they also compensated their customers handsomely with several weeks service free of charge.
Their support and service has been better than any telecoms company I have ever used - and I have been very critical of most of them ! I fully intend to renew again (having already extended my contract once before). To infinity and beyond!0 -
I joined e7 about 8 months ago........... I was happy enough with the service as it was very cheap and sufficient for my needs, and when there was a break in service they did recompense us. HOWEVER it is now the 6th DAY I have been without internet connection, apart from a few hours on the 4th Jan. I have done all the usual things ie unplugged the router, changed the user name as instructed. I have written to technical support, left messages on the cust service line, and the only reply in 6 days I have received is:
"have you changed your user name as instructed!!!!!!!!!! I nearly smashed the computer!
The dialup service they siad they were providing is a joke! I managed to get on to use is for a couple of hours in the 6 days. I have had to sign up with anaother dialup provider to write this.
As someone mentioned, we have paid up front so cannot just terminate the contract. To say I am furious, especially at the lack of communication from e7 is an understatement! When man sacrifices the Love of POWER for the Power of Love, there will be peace on earth.0 -
Just found this post on ADSLGUIDE.ORG:
To all our customers,
First and foremost we would like to unreservedly apologise for the ongoing broadband network problems that some of our customers are experiencing.
As you know we have been working on moving customers to the new networks and this has been a much more challenging task then we had hoped, however, we are making progress and hope to have all the reshuffling finished during the course of next week.
Obviously Customer Services and Technical support are much busier than usual responding to emails and phone calls to get customers back online and we appreciate that it is very frustrating not being able to get a quick response, but again we are working on this and drafting in extra resources to try and ease the situation.
Once all the network changes and upgrades are complete we will be making a formal offer of compensation to all users affected and simply ask that you be patient a little longer so that we may concentrate on resolving the problems at hand.
Finally, it has not helped that customers on the BBUK realm have been further affected by a router interface problem which we have engineers working on today and we hope to have a resolution to this shortly.
This is an information note only and we will not enter into communication about it's contents we feel at this stage, as we are sure you agree, that our resources are better spent resolving the network issues.

Gatita----join the band of very unhappy customers!
I can't stop laughing at the silly statement that E7even is on a par with Zen! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: That's where we are all going. Zen doesn't have to bribe their customers to bring folks over! E7even will give £20.00 for each person that is introduced into a contract of at least 12 months. The reputable ISPs don't tie people in.
E7even is in a class of its own----full of unhappy customers desperate to get away, me included.
People should go to https://www.adslguide.org and read about ALL the ISPs and then make up their minds. They shouldn't be swayed by folks for or against specific ISPs.0 -
Wow! This thread came to my notice after being posted over at E7 forum/ADSLguide
I simply could not leave this unchallenged, because most people over here are probably not so familiar with ADSL broadband, as on the other site.
There are some *facts* that you need to know before you decide to take up any e7even offers.
Yes, they are cheap, and i am the first to applaud them for bringing broadband to the public at a cost probably less than dialup.
That said, nothing is for free in this world, and the cheap deals do also come with some risk.
Let me explain very briefly how i see the system works.
The charges made by the company are not realistic and are not sufficient to fully fund the network costs!!
What that means is that there is no surplus money to expand the network when it becomes necessary.
The system relies on mass new signups to keep the company afloat.
Some people have used the term *pyramid scheme*nutter wrote:Just had a look at the e7even website and they have another good offer on.mike_paterson wrote:They have been completely replacing their network between 28th December and now. BT causing the problem ?
Oh no ! more like e7even had signed up too many people over the summer and their BT Centrals were congested !
BT's fault ?? I don't think so !!
Handsomely ? they gave an extra 2 weeks free to the account.
Many people were so unhappy with that, they wanted an early 2 week release from the contract !
Now to today's problems. After very heavy signing up over the past seven or eight months, the system had become so *congested* (slow speeds, poor connection, poor ping) that it became evident that something had to be done.
For months they had carried out *port throttling* (limiting download speeds and p2p), despite claiming to offer *unlimited* accounts.
Their answer was to split the current network three ways.
One way using another company (said by some to be the same company) Euro1net
Two, still using their old network, and
Three, hiring in *extra* network from Netservices.
Recent new signups appear to be placed on *one*, above.
This is working very well, but you have to ask yourselves what will happen in some months time when this begins to fill up ?
Now, one and two above have worked fairly well, but the third has, so far, been abyssmal. Most of the time people have difficulty holding a connection, the speeds are very often sub-dialup,
and the ping is also poor (useless for gamers).
What has been the most annoying for customers these past months, and definitely these past days, is the impossible inability to contact the company by 'phone. The response in emails is just a standard reply always suggesting a complete fix *in just a few days* (these have carried on for months).
People who have really had enough of this were willing to lose money (despite paying up front) just to get a MAC code to allow them to migrate to another ISP. Even this has apparently been impossible at the moment.
This poor communication concerning what is really happening to the network, stringing people along, and not giving realistic dates for fixes or *upgrades* appears to be a trademark of this company.
It is certainly very difficult to square comments such as this:mike_paterson wrote:I have to say it but there are lots of happy customers too. In all honesty, in all practical terms, it is just not realistic to compare Zen to e7even.
It is simply disingenuous and beyond belief to even suggest such a thing !!
I can well see why some people scoffed at that remark, it's like comparing a new Rolls Royce with a second-hand Astra !
I am not suggesting you all go to Zen, there are plenty of other ISPs out there, but it may be worth it in the long run to pay a little more for your broadband connection, just to ease the stress
If you are unsure then ask the questions over at ADSLguide
I probably wouldn't have posted this, but for that ridiculous statement above, concerning Zen !!
That is just going too far (in fairness to the people who have suffered, and many still suffering at this particular moment)
So there it is, good people, you can make up your own minds.
Good Luck whichever way you choose.0
