    Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Forgot that this month our mortgage payment changes from fixed rate to a tracker, which is an extra £157.40 payment and I didn't budget for it. *insert lots of swear words here* So I think I have just enough money to cover it, maybe  I feel so stupid now :embarasse

  • Oh don't remind me:eek:
But a lot of people were really hopeful when he got elected, think that is why so many are cynical now.

I was one of those people that was really hopeful in '97. I felt that we really needed a change.... Even though it all went to hell with TB and his slimefest, I don't regret feeling optimistic that things could change. IYSWIM. I think that many people are pinning too much on Obama, and essentially, no-one could live up to that level of expectation... I guess for me, the most important thing is that he seems to be a decent man, with decent values... and the first black president.... That's gotta be something to feel good about... IM(Humble)O.

Yes, but however good he could be he has inherited such a pile of carp that he will have to sort out first. Question is will he be given time to do it.

    I really hope so.

Thanks for that SS. I had thought about those, then thought a lot of money now I don't need to get up early, but I'm now in danger of wasting the time I have to do the things I want to do IYSWIM.

    I love mine.

OK been and gone and ordered it - even paid extra for next day delivery.
    Not very MSE I know
fingerwave.gif, but really need to kick myself into life.

    Blimey.... I feel all responsible now!! I really hope you like it!

The person lying next to it gets the maximum benefit, as they're closest to the light. I found that I needed to raise it higher than OH's head and pillow (ie on top of a load of books) in order for me to benefit. It's important to know that it won't help a fat lot if you're not getting enough sleep in the first place!!! Sounds obvious... but my OH was really cheesed off that he didn't feel lively when he woke... irrespective of him only having had 4 hours sleep.

I like how the radio starts quietly when it comes on, and gradually gets louder over a few mins. So there's no harsh blaring of breakfast show bananlity!! Not until I'm awake enough to deal with it. I'd forgotten till now that we could have the birdsong etc to wake up to... might try that tomorrow.
    Good luck!

How horrible for you. Don't feel stupid. At least you can cover it.... just. We all get caught out by things from time to time.

    Hi all

Trying to work through my list and get a few bits done today. I have just ordered 2 small presents for DS1.

I have a lumie wake up clock. Took a while to get used to - to start with I felt like I was being interogated and somebody was shining a torch in my eye. It has gone wrong twice since I had it - once I just had to unplug and leave to reset and once it had to be returned for repair but was foc.

Off for a little walk down to secondary to hand a form in now and get a wee bit of fresh air - I wish I could say sunlight but it's still gloomy here.

? I need to get a laptop for DS1 for xmas, any tips on good cheap models - it is for homework - thanks

Thanks...I'm just usually so organised! Realised that the panic isn't quite as bad as I thought. When I took off my list what we're not paying this month then I only need to put £100 or so into the account it comes out of which should be covered by a couple of child payments over the next two weeks. Just got to keep an eye on it. Bit of a pain though!

Mmmmm - a school which 'opens' to pupils at 8.30 has no-one taking calls at 8.15... tried at 8.20 calls answered but neither teacher 'in yet?'!

    ...

Just because the school phone system wasn't being answered does not mean the teachers are not there. Generally telephones are answered by admin staff as teachers are too busy in their classrooms preparing lessons, putting up displays, marking etc
I get in at about 8am and generally leave between 5 and 6pm but most of that time I am no where near a phone.
Agree that the school should ensure that email addresses are correct - maybe a word to reception and they can contact the ICT technical staff who can put that right.
    Hope you get it sorted
