I've been in a different world this afternoon (stop giggleing at the back,I am on this planet really!)

I want some material / fabric to cover a pasting table I am using at an exhibition, so off I wander to a well known auction site.

And put material in the search box, and up comes all the relevant items, and sizes called 'fat quarter' now I have never heard of this, bearing in mind my mother and I use to make dresses etc when I was in my teens, I am just so glad they also put the sizes in inches / meters so at least I understand what size I might be bidding on.

But then they confuse me with 2 fat quarters or 3 fat quarters................

Vali - I paid on line last year - cost has gone up to £2.50 per box. There is a thread on here (don't love love mse - there's a thread on everything!) which has put me off samaritans purse, trouble is place to drop of the romanian ones is a way away from me. - nothing is simple is it.
ooh I haven't read the leaflets this year...didn't know it had gone up - and Operation Xmas child (ie Sam Purse) are the ones we give out at school...I read about them but:confused: .

Ironed almost all of it (and carefully folded some;) )
next door's bonfire is still smouldering (much like me on a saturday night;) ) so I couldn't have pegged it out - it would not have dried - really damp and overcast here today anyway.
Cleaned kitchen inc windows:T Full level 3 there then!
    Cleaned bathroom
Shoved vacuum round Living Room (switched on of course:rotfl: )
Cleaned hall stairs and landing and PC area (in hall)
Deffragged PC and dusted PC desk
Got first phase of Friday errand sorted
    Vacuumed Kids rooms
    Sharpened pencils
Phoned Mrs T re coming in to school
e mailed both teachers I need to talk to
put plastics for recycling in car ready to drop off

Tomorrow (or tonight if a miracle occurs)
    My bedroom
    Dining room

Oh no, I posted last night just before I logged off, must have got lst in cyber space. Proved complaining gets you everywhere yesterday, we got the service book stamped by the service manager who was furious that DP had been lied to :) saved us £130 in a service!!!

Pigpen, my post did offer you a super huge hug and an eye to poke if it would make you feel better. Wish we could take some of the pain away you and yours are going through at the minute. My thoughts are with you and all the family x

PinkFairy if it's anything like our Freecycle you should see the ones we don't allow. Some really do think it's there to fill their house unfortunately. I do let most go through because members can then 'self moderate' knowing who are the greedy oiks.
Johanne the girls are right, I think it'd be better to watch him suffer showing him how much better life is without his ignorance. You deserve better. Oh and unless you can find a clean way of doing it, nah, why clean even more mess up after him. Just think of not having to worry about the debt he got himself into aswell, bliss, let him clean up his own mess in his life.
juliejim I went straight to Home Bargains yesterday, because I needed wondaweb, unfortnately no horrid henry in ours :(
Gryfon hugs for you, hope you manage to sort something
AnWsMum, so much advice is out there for fish oils, the research done (in our County) http://www.durhamtrial.org/index.htm used Equazen/EyeQ. I contacted them and they sent me samples (explained I wanted to try them for my children) http://www.equazen.com/default.aspx?pid=295 DSs will eat the chews. I order mine on 3 for 2 on Boots online via Greasypalm when there are good points offers on Boots (like the 750 one until Thursday)
Weddings, part of the reason I won't get married is I'd have to put up with all the families in one room, feel sick at the thought.
Dusty after friends experiences my only big tip is don't buy a Toshiba, one person I know has had 8 since he got his, all had problems. Phillips one I have was expensive and has dropped to bits. Wonder if you've thought of a second hand one? www.adtrader.co.uk usually a lot on there. There is a few shops inc Dell which do cashback on sites like Quidco. Boxes, here yes they ask for £2 I think it is at the school for each box or they won't send them. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/south_east/3205495.stm I remember that story stood out to me, several staff quit aswell http://www.sundaysun.co.uk/lifestyle-news/book-reviews/2008/06/15/north-man-quits-charity-shoebox-scheme-79310-21076821/, I do them because the kids want to take part, other than that I support charities I wish to at Christmas time. I have always donated a gift to a more local Christmas appeal which provides gifts for local disadvantaged children. Dog food and blankets for a local rescue (pick them up in charity shops or school fayres etc) my time if I can in walking/socialising the 'forgotten' ones at Christmas. I was considering discussing with DP about doing some volunteering on Christmas Day this year.
Toothfairy here is £1 (she'll deduct money off for bad teeth!) and we have to leave the tooth in an envelope so she can find it ;) after loosing one and DS1 claiming his money twice, enterprising young pest that he is. If I paid him £10/a game he'd be trying to remove his teeth even more than he does now, anything that wiggles is yanked on. We do letters for missing teeth aswell.
hollyh good luck getting everything cooked off, I am obsessed with it after having it happen a few times and check it every night and morning.

Grandparents seemed to enjoy yesterday evening, more Grandma of course, Grandad is less patient or easily entertained. Got very muddy, Grandad's bright idea on how to miss parking chaos tooks us through muddy hills but the kids enjoyed it.

Been to dentist, ouch injection just starting to go off, what a nightmare, they are changing the surgery onto a computer system as it's being taken over by a different company, I got there early but by the time I checked in at reception I was late and got seen an hour late due to computer issues, why don't they just leave what isn't broken alone? I embarrassed the new manager when I informed her the appointment she'd given someone was no good as it'd be a bank holiday (she is a right pain in the foof!)

DP has built the cabinet!!!!! Wow!!!!!! Don't all pass out at once. Anyway I have filled it, well only 1/2 filled it, because I had a fling as I sorted through the stuff. Big box of recycling filled.

This base rate cut has had someone I know in a bit of a panic, her mortgage company haven't passed on even the last cut to her but she lost her job because of being a carer and the interest is paid on hers by the DSS, at the base rate, so she's going to have an even larger shortfall if they don't pass the discount on. Can't remortgage because she's out of work, bit of a nightmare. Another friend praying her mortgage company do because hers is about £1500 a month (taken out over a shorter period as her partner is due to retire sooner than her)

Oh, dinner, best make some, in all evening as swimmings off (DS narky about that) so will pop back later. Oh, think Tesco order comes tonight, I best check.
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb

    AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH

Last night: Bathroom spotless, washing sorted into piles to blitz the laundry monster, kitchen spotless, to do list, ironing piles, general domestic peace and calm

Following a late night trying to get my cake decorating homework done and an early morning doing the same:

Bathroom littered with nappy bags, soiled baby clothes
    Kitchen - BOMBSITE
Laundry everywhere - washing machine BROKEN
    Crying baby
    Nursery a state
    Living room a state
    Bedroom a state

    MENTAL HEALTH - A State!!
    and BREATH!
    hugs.gif
Trouble is when you go all MSE and use your kitchen it gets DIRTY again.

WHAT IS A FAT QUARTER? A term used in patchwork and sewing.
It is a way of cutting a yard of traditional quilting cotton fabric in 4.
If you cut a quarter of a yard from a length of material you will get a strip 9 inches by 44 or 45 inches. Which is OK, but limited in ways that you can use it.
A fat quarter is cut in a different way. You cut half a yard of fabric and then cut this piece in half across the length. This gives you a piece of fabric approximately 18 inches by 22 inches (45.5cm by 56cm in metric). It is far more versatile for lots of projects.

Ok what can I add to beef (at least I think it's beef), carrots, onions and gravy. I have mash I could make up. Would cabbage go?
