Hmm. Not sure really. He reminds me too much of a certain politician we had in Britain who smiled a lot and gave a good speech. I'm a bit cynical about politicians though - I think they're all a bunch of liars

They are all a bunch of liars but not always on purpose.. it is easy to promise something but not always possible to carry it out. I think if you compare a lot of the services.. education, health etc you'll find they are amazing compared to how tragic they were at the beginning of the 90's. More often than that people expect immedicate change too which canot be delivered because the moron changes the 'old' system has set to happen cannot be changed so the first 2 years are irrelevant because a lot of what happens is down to the previous leaders..

I think he will be fantastic as a result of his roots and his heritage. He may also command some power over parts of Africa that are desperate for some kind of intervention.. We can only hope.. lets face it though, he is unlikely to invade other countries on a megalomaniac whim

Well, I've had a flyless day, am at work shortly, so have decided to leave it tomorrow. I'm not in til 1pm tomorrow, so that should give me plenty of time to catch up and do tomorrows stuff (difference between tomorrow and today is that today is oh's day off, so we've been doing together stuff...not that sort of stuff...mostly reading comics coz its comics day, and we went to bob carvers for lunch...nummies).

Pigpen - I hope things start to brighten on your horizen soon, we're here if you

Forgot that this month our mortgage payment changes from fixed rate to a tracker, which is an extra £157.40 payment and I didn't budget for it. *insert lots of swear words here* So I think I have just enough money to cover it, maybe  I feel so stupid now :embarasse
But with any luck you will benefit from the interest rate cut...I won't I'm on a fixed:mad:

Just because the school phone system wasn't being answered does not mean the teachers are not there. Generally telephones are answered by admin staff as teachers are too busy in their classrooms preparing lessons, putting up displays, marking etc
I get in at about 8am and generally leave between 5 and 6pm but most of that time I am no where near a phone.
Agree that the school should ensure that email addresses are correct - maybe a word to reception and they can contact the ICT technical staff who can put that right.
    Hope you get it sorted
I rang twice - first time no answer but the second time it was answered.
The lady who answered the phone actually said she thought the teachers weren't in yet (they sign in there...)...it wasn't that an extension phone was unanswered...I would have said that the teacher was unavailable to take a call and have taken a message myself...I would NOT have told a parent that a teacher wasn't in school unless they were off on a course...mind you when I worked in an office I was a brilliant phone person...people used to ask if I was BT trained..not at all I just used common sense and had impeccable manners. Often when I phone and leave a message I do not get called back...and I always tell them where and when I am available - ie at home all day Thursday...I KNOW how hard teachers work:rotfl:

I always have BUT I have always sent a cheque for the full amount ie both boxes - in one box...I have never put cash in.

I have my fingers crossed that the bank will pass the saving on! Especially as I've spent a year stressing about it, leaving our fixed was supposed to coincide with Mr G getting a pay rise but him being off work sick for 3 months has meant that that's been put back! It's all a bit of a mess really.

Today I've sorted the baby out, taken my dad to get his new second hand van, did a bit of the lounge, did some washing up and I'm now cooking dinner and so far have put in unidentified meat, onion and wizened garlic chopped up to fry :D Think I'll stick some tomato stuff in as well and serve with cous cous.
Fluttering about an inch off the ground, I may fly properly one day and soar in the clouds!

  • What pigpen said. ! Eloquent as ever Ms Piggers.

I've got lamb chops in the SC. OOOO they smell gooooooood.

I've bought loads of pop music sheet music for my girls for Christmas. I'm hoping it'll make them feel happier about learning. DD2 has been sounding out the Abba tunes on the keyboard. So I got the Abba music for her.

It's so odd not getting the credit card out and not giving it a second thought. This is month 3 of no credit card use. It's all been my online current account, and making sure there's money transfered into it to cover the payment out. I guess most people already do this. But it's a big deal to me. Still reeling from the big light bulb moment 3 months ago.
Right school run. Let's hope DD3 has had a better day, if not we're in serious trouble!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Vali - I paid on line last year - cost has gone up to £2.50 per box. There is a thread on here (don't love love mse - there's a thread on everything!) which has put me off samaritans purse, trouble is place to drop of the romanian ones is a way away from me. - nothing is simple is it.
