  • Morning all,
Up at 5am again, but went back to bed after hubby left as was absolutly shattered - god DS up at 7am and went back to bed again - got up at 9.30am in the end (but was really just lying there awake while he was getting ready to make sure he went on time - he went back to bed after his breakfast so that was a good idea!)
So feeling much better now (also light when I got up which does make you feel better) - still pretty grey here though and lights on so I can work as I don't need eye strain, but getting there...
Couldn't get into the car last night as the key had stopped working (electric button thing) probably coz of fireworks, but the guy told me over the phone how to re-set it today (there is a key in it, it's amazing)... so I can use the car again now - I'll really miss it Monday when it goes back... got to get a car this weekend or I'm stuffed...!
See you all when I get back!
    Have fun flying...

Doing very badly here! Before 11am I will have changed and dressed the baby, cleared the lounge floor and started on meal plans for the week.
Fluttering about an inch off the ground, I may fly properly one day and soar in the clouds!

Am SERIOUSLY impressed with your prioritising here...and that IS NOT a sarcastic comment - keeping yourselves safe (fire alarm) and making that phone call...

Hmm. Not sure really. He reminds me too much of a certain politician we had in Britain who smiled a lot and gave a good speech. I'm a bit cynical about politicians though - I think they're all a bunch of liars

I sort of agree with you, but I think that is the way of all politicians now - the 'TB' factor is everywhere and spin has overtaken facts in a lot of things, but when you think of what has been 'running' the US up to now and what the opposition was (same again?) it's got to be an improvement - plus, although this isn't really fair, he's got a lot to prove and live up to - the first coloured president ever - you can't afford to get that wrong can you!:D ;)

Right, step away from the politics, nothing to see here, (slaps own wrist and promises not to talk off topic again...)

I've found that too - got one of those big packs of 50 pencils in Tesco for £1 (in those bins that they do the £1 stuff) and just put some out so there's always something to write a note with - pens just disappear into the ether here too - I bet there's a place where they go, like the elephants graveyard - and some archaeologist in the future will find them all...:rotfl:

    Morning all

Needed to make a couple of calls to school - secondary...

Mmmmm - a school which 'opens' to pupils at 8.30 has no-one taking calls at 8.15... tried at 8.20 calls answered but neither teacher 'in yet?'!

And incorrect email.... Doesn't bode well!! As they say... good luck with that! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Morning! Back is feeling slightly better today so I'm going to get going with the lounge again. Hopefully by the time Mr G gets home at 12 the floor will be clear and the area under the fishtank will be ready for him to put a shelf in, then I can put the boxes of toys I have in there easily.

Well done Gryfon you're doing really well. Did encouraging the OH work?! :rotfl:

That's really good news. :T I love my meat delivery, glad yours has worked out well, it's a big 'plunge' ordering so many £'s worth of meat in one go... a little alarming if it's no good!!!!

Oh no.... I don't think he's anything like as slimy!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: And I've not seen Barack do the "big smile, head tilt, I'm on your side, " expression!

Also Flower you're right as the the first black president he does have a lot of people's hope in his hands. But he's changed the world and people's expectations just by having been elected. :T :T :j :j :T :T

I know what you mean Kaz. I was getting up and getting going fine with the light mornings, but really struggling now and if I have a slow start never get going so nothing gets done and I get annoyed with myself.

It makes a huge difference to how we feel in the morning. And because it starts gently your melatonin (sp) production stops, and your cortisole (sp) starts. I wouldn't be without it now on these crappy mornings. Esp as we get up at 6.30am.

Phew!!! that took about an hour!!!
I've walked the dog this morning, not my usual long one, but a shortened 20 min version. Definitely not overdoing things this week.
I'm going to go and make dinner now, and find something to eat.... rumbling tum!!
