We need toe splints!! lol.. wonder if you can get pink or red or twinkly micropore tape.. think I may have to get out my pens?
She is a bit fly for charts.. could always try a wee bit of bribery I guess..... we strapped them at podiatry today and she went hysterical until we took them off.. I will think of something over the next week or so.. I don't want to strap her toes as well as the introduction of the insoles all at once... I think the sensation woudl be too much.. that's it.. I realised while typing.. she is really sensitive to fabrics... I need to sort her something snazzy... I wonder if a row of tiny tubes would hold it.. or 2 tubes with a hammock in the middle for her curly toe... I may have to go designing!! lol...

I saw this and thought of you!
Dust if you must
Dust if you must but wouldn't it be better
To paint a picture or write a letter
Bake a cake or plant a seed.
Ponder the difference between want and need.
Dust if you must but there's not much time,
With rivers to swim and mountains to climb!
Music to hear and books to read,
Friends to cherish and life to lead.
Dust if you must but the world's out there
With the sun in your eyes, the wind in your hair,
A flutter of snow, a shower of rain.
This day will not come around again.
Dust if you must but bear in mind,
Old age will come and it's not kind.
And when you go and go you must,
You, yourself, will make more dust.
Dust if you must but listen to this,
It's caring not cleaning that brings upon bliss.
Remember, a house becomes a home when
you can write "I love you" on the furniture...

I guess sometimes we just have to go with it a bit, rather than battling it IYSWIM. You sound like you could do with a treat or something nice to look forward to maybe??
Hope you start to feel brighter soon angel.

Thank you so much Sarah, that was really nice of you to post, you are such a darling! I guess it's been over a week and my knees are still feeling like they will collapse under me any min. Although they ARE much better than they were even two days ago.
I think I am just so disappointed that I finally find a therapist that could help me and she goes into private practice and effectively prices herself out of my market... I would laugh if it wasn't so upsetting.
The tescos order is coming tomorrow, maybe I will add some icecream to the list and just sit and pig out on Ben and Jerrys...:rotfl: :rotfl: Hang the budget!!
Sorry for the whinge!
Hugs again Sarah

Edit: thank you so much embb - just saw your hug, and it was most appreciated!

pigpen Maybe you could just buy clothes/trainers for DS1? or just cash?
that's all my teenies interested in, but not this year, this year he wants a lizard
Well he isn't having a lizard.. he killed his goldfish!!!
I won't give him cash because I know he would spend it on things I don't want him to spend it on.. drink drugs and cigarettes.. Unless it comes in the form of vouchers.. but he can sell those for cash so no.. unless I go shopping with him.. but that means being with him... unless I send hubby and they have some male bonding time... but one of them would end up dead..
I'll be getting him trainers and he has mounds of clothes.. definitely mounds as they are all over his bedroom floor!! I need to get him a new bag for college.. providing they've not kicked him out by then! Actually if they kick him out I'll drag him to college with me..
I've got him a large smelly set.. and some canvas shoes and he'll get books and sweets and maybe a new phone.. I'll see how this £25 one does! ..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Ben and Jerry's sounds like a plan Diva!
Piggers Fair play for working it out chick, it's funny, there are times when one of my children behaves in a really off the wall fashion. Those around say they're just being out of order.... and then I realise what the problem actually is.... an it's like  of course that's what's wrong.
Hope you sort it - sure you will.MMSSB Club Founder Member

Quote from Pigpen:
Right.. that is the boys large christmas present sorted.. I got them a wii too.. child benefit day yesterday! I got DS1 a new mobile as well.. an entire £25.. and he'll make do! I got a couple of games etc to go with it.. I want to get them guitar hero or something next week when I've a bit more cash.
Hello!!
I'm sorry I don't post on here at all but have been following flylady for a couple of weeks now and am really enjoying the thread. I just wanted to say that I have Guitar Hero for the Wii that I have just got ready to put on Ebay this evening. We absolutely love it but have decided to get it for the PS3 instead as we want to buy World Tour (so hubby's telling me!) when that comes out. I was wondering whether you may be interested in purchasing it from me? My email is clairestar86@hotmail.com is you were at all interested. I can send you pics etc and answer any questions should you have any.
Thanks, and apologies for the random interruption to the thread!
Claire

Evening all,
I was going to suggest bribery Pigpen! Sure she will be fine once she is used to them, probably just feels weird.
Johanne - Huge hugs, take care of yourself and Sarah. What a cowardly way to tell you:mad:
Glad the sickies all seem to be mending, slowly but surely. How is your DD Serena? The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
Johanne - big hugs for you. I honestly thought splitting up with someone by text was the behaviour of a 14yo boy? Hope you are ok.
Chunky - no not umbrella company, DH works for a big construction firm but he is home based so I do his expenses and mileage - £1k for the last two months so important it happens on time. Good job we have a credit card. I am straight self employed so my stuff just goes on my SA form.
Mudbath - you really aren't having a good year are you? Sounds more positive if not shingles though.
I have been buying boy presents too, but determined not to over do it like last year. I see Sainsburys are supposed to be half pricing all the toys from Thursday again - I will resist! We have got 16yo DSS a basic laptop for Christmas, came in at £170 via the business, a lot of money but it stops him from nicking my business one and leaving it round for small boys to break. Just going to get him some pulling pants to wrap for the day - or are Calvin Kleins (cheap in TK Max) naff these days?
Not a lot done yet but I need to do DW, WM and the hoovering still isn't done from last night, never mind todyas list. I have tomorrow off though so might just catch up then.
Clairstar - please change your post to say 'PM me' rather than put your e-mail on a public forum! I would hate to see you drown in spam.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
woooohoooo, dp just foned.... his aunty is going to get us an electric cooker for the house.

Yeah but she has that many accidents this is a pure damage limitation exercise on their part!:rotfl: :rotfl:SarahShattered wrote: »Well, I'm much better than yetserday, ABs are definitely better than the other ones. But my stomach's whizzing round like a whizzy thing from whizzville. Not settled at all. However, in true female style, what did I do the second I started to feel better.... not shopping or eating chocolate.... I did too much that's what!!!! I walked the dog, and went to the supermarket. So now I feel really weak, and floppy. Great, what a dufus (sp) :doh:Phoned the chimney sweep and he was here within half an hour and cleaned the chimney for us. As I suspected it was chock-a-block and probably hadn't been swept for a long time. Didn't fancy a chimney fire and the firemen hosing all the soot into the lounge:eek:.Gryfon Have you asked him to do the housework - most men do need to be asked, a tip I picked up from 'Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus' book..... say "will you" not could you, would you mind.....it's worth a go, hope your back feels better soon.feel like a wet rag. OH decided to tell me at 3am via text message that the engagament/relationship is over and hes looking for somewhere else to live. So was up till 5am as i got so upset i accidentally woke pumpkin and had to cuddle and comfort her for over an hour to get her back to sleep. So were both shattered so doubt be flying today.this year he wants a lizardMum_on_a_mission wrote: »Hi ladies, back from Ed Psych appt - DS has fairly severe dyslexia but otherwise is rather bright. Having 30 mins looking at LEA website re SEN
anyway to reiterate many thanks girlies...
(((hugs))) to Pigpen too...lost the post I was going to reply to but you seem to be having it rough at the moment...BTW she added cheekily - where'd you get the fake Uggs? DD has said she'd like some and I doubt I can afford the real deal.
(((hugs))) Diva you too are suffering - puts my life into perspective...
ETA - finishing by text - Jo - what can I say - most immature which, if I recall from last week's behaviour is part of the problem. I think some boys never make manhood... I am sure you will get support/advice but if you need to ask lots of us have gone through this. When he does go you can get child benefit paid weekly and an immediate reduction in the council tax bill - by 25% HTHDon't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
