Just bought Ds's GF a ball dress via eBay. Her mother won't use it (freak) but she will be led to believe it is from DS (which most of it will be as he wants her to have the dress she wants. Her mother was going to take her to Monsoon even though she doesn't like it, but this dress is £4.66 plus postage and insurance, hand made so a total of £86.66 - made to measure!!! She's undecided about the colour but I've asked if he could send a small fabric sample for a couple she likes.
It's here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&item=150307427638 if you scroll down a bit past the payment stuff!DMP mutual support thread No: 433 - Mortgage - £54,556, Credit cards - £4012, Unsecured loan - £3,376, Other - £419

Boddy - hope you feel better soon. Loved the story about the ex's girlfriend!
ChristmasShopper - that's lovely you've found your Dad's photo! Maybe your Gran's ring went missing so you could find that. Was the Gran with the ring your Dad's Mum or your Mum's Mum?
Well I've been productive today. Got the bedding in the washing machine in the end. It had a blow for a couple of hours outside when the rain stopped and then came back in and got put on the airer in the kitchen when the rain started again! It's nearly there. Just finishing the bits off one by one on the radiator.
Went and did Mr T and almost got hypothermia - the store was freezing today and I hadn't bothered to take my coat. Was totally uninspired by anything in there today so just did a very small shop. We'll live out the freezer this week I think (ooohhh - note to self - take a piece of beef out to defrost for tomorrow night's roast).
I was sorting out the kitchen food cupboard this morning and always need to get the little footstool out to stand on it to properly reach the top shelf. The little footstool is years old and the top is made from woven sisal. When the dog was a pup, she managed to chew a lot of the threads so a great big hole has developed over time and it's really not safe to stand on and hardly any use to sit on because one cheek sort of sinks down through the hole! I've been meaning for years to restore the top.
So, today I decided I would do it. I I measured the dimensions and the existing sisal and worked out exactly home much new sisal I would need. I then went out to Homebase to get some. They had some balls of very thick sisal which stated the length at really inflated prices which would have cost me £24.00.
They also had some smaller balls of thinner sisal but there was no length given. So I collared a passing shop assistant and asked the question. 'How long is this piece of string?' it turned into quite a comedy sketch. In the end we decided that the only thing to do was to open it up and measure it - I assured him I'd buy it and more to make up the length I needed.
But, fortunately, just as he was about to break the pack open, I spied another lot which seemed better quality which did have the length on so I bought two balls of that instead which came to £6.00. I have done the first layer and am now part way through the weaving bit. With any luck, I should have it finished this evening. I forgot to take a 'before' picture of the old stuff but I'll do an 'after' picture for you when it's finished.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

I need a bit of flylady realted advice!!
I have an eeyore teddy who sits on our bed...but I realised recently I've had him about 13 years and he could probably do with a wash....what would you suggest - 30? 40? spin / no spin?! i've no idea!!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
PF be very careful with buyers who chare the item cost in postage, it's done to avoid ebay fees and if anything is wrong with it, you'll get next to nothing back. Does look stunning however and if all is ok with it, could be a bargain.
Michelle yes it still needs the remote to go in it but that's a good price, official nintendo ones are about £10, cheapest I have seen copy ones is £5 in gamestation.
Walle for the Wii is half price (£14.99) in gamestation if anyone was looking for that by the way, made me laugh as the had pre owned one for £28
Not done much else, energy lapsed, think I will do that vacuum cleaner clear out now.One day I might be more organised...........

DS has just come back from visiting his dad..with a new memory stick...
Apparently he lost the last one I bought him - which was the SECOND one and didn't even mention it to me because I had told him that I would not buy him a third. He just told his dad he needed one for school and dad shelled out...
so top marks to DS for initiative - he knew I wouldn't pay for one! Just a shame though that ex OH did not check with me - because I would have told him that, as DS has already had two and lost them both it was his own responsibility to replace it.
The other annoying thing is he hasn't lost them as such - just left it in a computer at school. It may even have been handed in.
I have told DS he can get a job with the Government then - he already has 'losing memory stick experience' :rotfl:
Incidentally DS just sat by me and said 'I've bought you some Heroes' ex has a tin and told DS to take some - he must have brought about a pound of them...ex OH would have a fit if he knew I was going to eat them!
They learned early on about their dad's attitude to me...exOH took them to the coast for a day out the first summer we were separated. The kids wanted to buy me a present but had no money so they picked something, DS told his dad he really wanted it (one of those laser cut glass cube things) ex OH told them he wasn't buying ME anything but they convinced him it was for DS and presented it to me proudly when they got home...
While I have to admire their initiative I am sad that they feel the need to be so devious and underhand - I bought birthday cards for them to give him (well once... until I realised what they were hearing when they visited their dad and his 'loving and generous (in attitude)' mother. I did phone exOH and I asked him not to bad mouth me because I don't badmouth him - well not in front of them anyway:rotfl:Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

It seemed to me that the cold was because the chillers were turned up high (that type of dry air con cold rather than just cold). The cynic in me wonders if it's a big ploy. Mr T is turning up everything to hike up their electric bill so that when they install the wind turbines they've put planning permission in for, they can come across as being really green energy wise because they can show how their electricity bill has reduced!I am the leading lady in the movie of my life
