No 215 reporting in. I made another overpayment today of £52.02 - making my total overpayment for April to be £320. I think this will be my full contribution for April and hopefully I can keep this higher amount being paid next month - time will tell.

I've managed to pay a total of £366.69 this month which has been quite easy just doing small bits as and when we could when we saved on other stuff. I was hoping for more but DH's car needed more work doing.

My year to date amount is £474.91, and i am just about on target to overpay what i want to this year. I'm pleased with that as i have caught up well. This month has taught me though that we could also do with building the savings up a bit more so i can not feel as stressed when things go wrong.

Next month we have DS2's 1st birthday and party to sort out, but i'm hoping for a similar overpayment.

Due to bad planning and poor internet access last month I didn't move any cash into the deposit fund, so its a double whammy this month with £3000 :j

    Will pm you Zav.

    Hi,

  • Hi everyone,

FB - #169 reporting in again.

You're all doing so well - such big overpayments.

I've done a quick calculation and as I should have some money spare at the end of the month, I've just made a token £25 on-line mortgage overpayment to soak up some of this surplus income.

    Totals are now as follows:

    April overpayments: £101.97 and £25 - total £126.97
Year to date total overpayments: £1,032.88.
    Target for year: £3,800.

    Hi all,

I've changed my approach a little so am not too sure where I am!

My mortgage is down to £74100 but OH and I have now decided to save up the remaining part of the mortgage as if we do decide to move in the future, it will be better to have a deposit and keep this house as well. Having weighed up the pros and cons and given the current climate and my lack of employment, we do not want to be in the position where we cannot get the overpaid money back.

I shall therefore be reporting my figures at the month in terms of outstanding mortgage and savings. When the MFiT partII commences I shall put extra funds against the mortgage so I start at £65500 as planned.
