  • Hi All,

MFW #255 checking in with April OP.

Managed an OP of £1340.65 in April, giving £5,363.33 year to date which is just about on target.

Well done everyone on your overpayments so far. Reading about them gives great motivation to keep at it!
  • We've just had to do the same, likewise, not long after remortgaging and having the freedom to overpay at will, so know where you're coming from. Enjoy the new car.

    Happy driving!

    LM

I'm glad I'm not the only one then Little Mama!! Hope your enjoying your new car too. I don't know about you but I just wanted to drive everywhere in mine at first because it's just so lovely to drive but the novelty is slowly wearing off now lol!! Not very MSE I know - just wanted to show off really!!
I ended up with a Ford KA (not what I was looking into buying next year), I just needed something to get me from to A-B. It was that I didn't have time to research it as much as I wanted to but got a great deal (£2.5k) and all within 48hours of my old car packing up!!
So my overpaying plans are being re-written as we speak!! (not sure if my grammer is right there lol!)

Not got it yet, picking it up tomorrow!

We're getting a CMax, growing small people who, if we keep it 5 years plus (which we plan to!) will be teenage people, so needed the room and bought now whilst we had some pennies.

I like the wee KAs and, as I understand it, that'll be very MSE, small for nipping around in....so don't beat yourself up.

I'm now doing daily clickthroughs like they are going out of fashion in a bid to get the mortgage overpayments back on track, as really should get the savings back to where they were before paying amounts off.........thank goodness for the offset, at least it's all working for us :A

    Happy & safe motoring.

I am so pleased with myself another £345 has just gone so:

I am well over my target!!!

    £7185 in total

I can't believe I managed to budget so well. I can pay only 10% off without a penalty and I think I have only £2000 left. So I may set myself a new target which would be £9000 altogether for this year ;-)

    Well done!!!

Could you not reduce your term to up your 'normal' payments, and thus getting around the 10% OP rule??

Hello all and Happy Easter :p

Hope you've all been enjoying the sunshine its a very MS treat- absolutely free and good for you too- I'm glad we made the decision not to go away this Easter. My prediction for 2009 is a good summer too- this is entirely non-scientific but pure optimism.
Anyway back to MFW. Our OP target for 2009 is £6000 and this month we've overpaid £381 which was extra pay I was not expecting, so our total overpayment this year is £4177.35.
We would have been able to overpay more but have to keep money in the bank in case our ISAs do not all pay out in time to pay off credit cards before 0% deal ends. (stoozing experiment- interest rates don't seem worth the hassle to continue this another year). However next month should be a whopper overpayment by our standards we should reach 2009 target by end of month 5. Won't stop OPing though:rotfl:.
    Good luck everyone!
2016 MFW OPd £2000, 2015 MFW OPd 3000 then bought new bigger house with bigger mortgage.
