My small savings are stacking up this month.

£104 from not paying nursery fees for the 2 bank holiday days over Easter,
    £1.50 from a quidco payment
£37.50 from a westfield health reimbursement of health costs

I wasn't expecting any of these things so no loss to put them in the mortgage. I can't wait to see what my end of month result will be. Hopefully good.

    Nice one, well done.

 have finally made an OP - the first of 2009 :rotfl:A whole forty quid too, but it all helps. Lots of reasons for this as listed on my own diary. Still aim to make that 10% OP by the end of the year though.

Good to see so many people on here doing so well

mfw no 231 checking in for April. £310 OP this month due to another rate cut & our minimum payment being reduced.

This will be the last for a while tho, due to DH being on sick leave. He has got a crushed vertebra at the base of neck. :confused:No idea how he has done it, but thankfully all the tests he has had have come back OK. Hospital were looking for a tumour of some sort. We will be seeing a consultant in 2 weeks for them to decide what they are going to do. Probably an operation.

So we have decided that all excess cash needs to be kept aside at the moment, (in offset account) so if he is off longer than 6 months & drops to half pay we wont have to dip into savings. He has been off 2 months so far.

Just goes to show you never know whats round the corner & the importance of having an emergancy fund. We are fortunate that he will get full pay for 6 months.

Obviously if he is back at work sooner I will then make a lump sum OP with the saved up cash.

    12k target - £2615 so far 2009

Couldn't do it last month lots of bills extra (cars mostly and kids) have been a little naughty with the Retail Theraphy over Easter, but we were going away then couldn't (glad we didn't cos of the weather) so don't feel too bad - you have to have some fun too!

Hope everyone had a lovely Easter despite the weather - off now to do some cheap gardening and planning to go out tonight for a meal with Tesco vouchers - really liking them!
