I managed a really good August OP of £1130. I make my OPs as capital repayments to reduce the term of the mortgage and have been OPing since I re-mortgaged in April 08 (lightbulb moment). I have only missed one month in that time and have just had it confirmed that my term is now less than half what it was when i re-mortgaged!! Yay, very happy!

Big congratulations on getting it to there - was it you who had the bottle to drink ???

Yup. A payment for some menial work. I'm not opening it untill I'm free of the 0% debt and have walked away from Northern Rock. If you're wondering - The monthly contractural repayments on a £100 mortgage are 70p :rotfl:

Hey Cheery, you take the Adam and Eve award for temptation resistance ! Understand why your not opening it, but with a 70p mortgage it must be worth at least a  !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello fellow OP's I have been slack at keeping in touch (last OP details from May!) so here are the updates on our current OP's...
Year to date as of May £6349.85

    June £255.60
    July £55.60
    August £116.40

This brings year to date total to £6777.45, initial target was £5000 and by the end of the year I hope to have OP'd £7000. Not able to OP as much lately as we have holidays to pay for!:j

Keep up the good work everyone:T-I will PM Zav with my figures.

Number 133 checking in. Made August £500 OP today bringing total to £4000 YTD, so on target to make the maximum allowed of £6000. I will update my balance after the regular payment goes out on 1st of the month, but we are set to go sub £25k !

Well done everyone - keep up the good work.

I am a newbie too and am completely shocked by the savings you can make by overpaying. I have been umming and ahhing about whether or not to get a lodger in my spare room. Would give me about £500 a month (after tax) which I could use as an overpayment.

Having looked at the overpayment calculator, this extra money would shave 11 YEARS off my mortgage and save me HALF of the interest. Makes it seem like a complete no brainer now!! I'm off to find me a flatmate :)

Won't be MF in 3 years but will hopefully have made a good dent in it all!

Another £715 into savings for me this month - total for the year is now £5847.54. Still not sure if I'll make my new £8000 target, but here's hoping!
