  • I have recently bought a Samsung Bluray player from Willen Trading and i am afraid to say that i am not happy at all with it.
The product is faulty. I have tried to contact them a number of times so that i could send the product back, but they totally ignored my emails.
I got in touch with them a week after i received the product as my understanding was that the goods could be returned, exchanged or your money back.

But up to now i am stuck with a faulty, non operable blyray player

Better to deal with a reputable well known company.

I bought an infrared sauna from them on Ebay last Sunday 1st November, paid immediately via Paypal attaching a message with all of my contact details. Tuesday 2nd Nov received an email from them requesting my contact number to arrange delivery. Replied again with all of my details. No contact from them until Thursday 4th Nov saying that they did not have the item in stock and it was listed in error and would do a full refund. I replied saying that I wanted the refund by close of business Friday 6th Nov as I needed to source the item elsewhere. Still no contact by 8th or refund. Tried ringing the number on the Ebay invoice, just rings and does not answer. Poked about on Google and uncovered a whole host of unhappy people who had been had by this company. They are part of Geneva Industries and when I spoke to their extremely rude and arrogant customer services I got my refund. Their number is 01908 557070 but be prepared for abuse. Needless to say I have left negative feedback on Ebay. Please do not trade with them, their feedback speaks for itself and I have learnt that lesson for the future.

Don't people read the feedback on ebay? OK, 97% looks pretty fair but look a bit closer - in the last year they have received 356 negatives, 333 neutrals and nearly a hundred feedback have been revised - this tends to suggest buyers have been blackmailed into revising bad feedback in exchange for their money back. These figures alone indicate that something like 3 buyers per day are unhappy, and how many others just don't bother to leave any feedback at all.

They also trade on Amazon, where there 'lifetime' feedback is only 90%.

It really is terribly sad that these companies are allowed to carry on trading. There must have been dozens if not hundreds of complaints to trading standards - what the dickens do these people do - how much evdence do they need to shut down such a company?

I wouldn't count your luck yet. If you look at the complaints, many are about what happens (or doesn't happen) if the product goes wrong - PayPal won't help you then. If it does, I would be extremely cautious about returning it to them...

anybody bought anything from the abov e firm - I'm looking at buying a TV/DVD and have spent trying to weigh up price vs quality. Loads of 19" models of questionable quality according to here and AV forums but the above company have graded machines with a 1 year warranty. Is it worth the risk?

Frankly, Willen Trading has been one of my best shopping experiences. I often work unsociable hours but was amazed to be greeted with a reply after making a out of hours enquiry about one of their products.
I sought a good price for a very popular camera and found they were the cheapest in the country. When I submitted my order I was amazed to have the order processed so quickly paying with Paypal and was given precise details of my delivery times. The camera has arrived and its a dream. I have my eyes on another product and will be definately ordering it next week.
I appreciate, sometimes problems can occur but their after sales service seems very efficient. Heathrowminicabs

  • hey im actually shocked to see the comments here iv used them twice now first for a 22inch samsung tv from ebay it arrived within a few days and iv had no problems with it, it came with all the right parts and its been refurbished but it looks new, and has been running for about a year now with no issues.

i got a new camera from them through amazon this time ordered it the 28th and got an email today saying it will arrive between 14.50 and 15.50 it came at 14.55, i am very pleased with their service so far not had to contact them for any issues yet so i dont know that side of it but i had no issues at all.

saying that its only been used to day and well it looks as good as new and does what id expect it too but that could go wrong now iv actually said nice stuff about them

ps was going to use them again but worried i just got lucky and it might not be so good next time around
  • Hi, (very) newbie, so I'll keep it brief.
Didn't see this thread & ordered a blu ray player. When tracking number hadn't arrived I called the 0870 number posted on her e& was given another number to call. Still a Milton Keynes land line of 01908 557070.
Option one for customer services, and the guy that answered went off, told me my package had been sent & I should receive it tomorrow. Tracking number should come later tonight as they don't get them until 5.30pm from PDP.
So, I am holding my breath for tomorrow, but thought I would share the new number as its a waste of money dialling the 0870 if you don't need to.

    Hope this helps someone.

    A.
