anybody bought anything from the abov e firm - I'm looking at buying a TV/DVD and have spent trying to weigh up price vs quality. Loads of 19" models of questionable quality according to here and AV forums but the above company have graded machines with a 1 year warranty. Is it worth the risk?

Hi, I've not bought anything but quite a few people i know have shopped there and apparently they are brilliant. All the descriptions of any defects eg scratches are very accurate and fair.
If you live close enough (MK) then you can opt to pick up your goods, its just off junction 14 M1
If there is a problem they will exchange it no worries.
One guy I know has kitted his house out from there!
I am looking at getting a tv for xmas from there.
    Hope this helps

  • I've made the big mistake of buying from this sham company, and am now completely unable to contact them. Like everyone else, they refuse to answer my emails, no longer have a phone number and worst of all... My first transaction didn't go through it said, and asked me to enter my details again. Stupid enough I did, and then got 2 confirmation emails for 2 tellys!!!

I read online about another guy which same thing happened to. Unable to contact them they have no robbed me of my hard earned money and my bank is unable to do anything!!

Never ever buy from this company as if you have any problems, you won't be able to contact them, and you can forget the refund!!

Worst of all this telly was a present for my best friend to say thank you for all his help recently, and now I have no money left to buy him something he really deserves.

    Very upset..................
  • my wife and i bought a 40 inch lcd tv from them back in june and the item was exactly as described and they communicated well with us, the only problem was delivery was a bit slow, and the price was good. i would buy from them again but maybe we were lucky.
  • I emailed them using their web contact form showing concern about the comments above and got a very prompt reply within 24 hours

I placed an order saturday evening 13 Dec and received the order Tuesday 16 Dec - very prompt delivery !!

I would recommend them to anyone ! Just remember they have excellent deals but the items are Boxed / Graded so do read up on this if you are not sure via their website.
  • Anyone considering buying from WILLEN TRADING LTD should first visit this website:

I was a 'victim' of this Company and it would seem that recently they have gone from bad to worse.

Looks like I am the latest sucker to have bought from this sham company. Bought a digital camera that packed in a day later. Have been emailing them ever since and not so much as an acknowledgement to my messages. I'm not very hopefully at this ever being resolved. I should have seen the clue in no phone number being available. Intend reporting them to Ebay and in the meantime all I can do is try to warn others DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!

OK, I ordered a DVD recorder before reading up on Willen Trading on this site. It didn't work, so I returned it under their no-quibble 7-day return policy. Over a month later I have not received the refund - conveniently the price was £99.99, so the credit card company presumably won't be interested. I've sent seven e-mails, and not received any response.

So what to do next? Write off the £99.99, or pursue payment through the small claims court? Even if they found in my favour, how would I force Willen Trading to pay up? Has anyone gone down this route who can give me some practical advice as to whether it's worth it or not?

    Thanks.

Guderian - I had a similar problem with an ink supply company about a month or so ago. I contacted them after a week waiting for it to be delivered and they said they were unable to supply the item and would organise a refund. Anyway, they didn't and they wouldn't reply to my emails either. I contacted credit card disputes and they asked me to send all the details to them and they would investigate. In the meantime they did a manual chargeback on my account. That was for £32.90 so I'm sure you'll have a case. It's worth a try.

    Hi beardiedog,

    Thanks for that information.

Can you tell me what the "credit card disputes" you contacted is? I did a quick Google but couldn't spot a company by that name. If you've got a contact e-mail or website address, I'd be grateful.

    Thanks,

    G
