Halifax Guaranteed Saver Reward

The website now saysLimited offer - open and fund an account before 26 November 2008, although offer may be withdrawn earlier
So they have pulled the date forward. Be quick if you want this account0 -
Fund an account before 26th Nov: that just refers to the initial minimum £2500 deposit doesn't it?0
-
Yes, you have to have the account opened and the initial £2,500 credited by 26th November.
I also spoke to them today and they confirmed that the £2,500, (if you credit this to your current account from an external account), counts as the first £1000 into the current account.
My money won't arrive into my current account until Tuesday 25th. But they said all would be OK to immediately transfer (by phone) this £2,500 into my Guaranteed Saver Reward account that same day. They said it didn't need to be in overnight to qualify, as long as the minimum £1,000 was credited each month.
Hope this makes sense0 -
Does anyone know whether the Guaranteed Saver Reward counts towards the max number of 5 Halifax accounts. If so I'm !!!!!!ed as I have 5 already.0

Hello,
I opened a Guaranteed Saver Reward this morning. I already have a Halifax current account with £2500 in it but, like others, I got an error when trying to transfer from the current account during the account opening process.
My online service now shows the account as a Guaranteed Saver with a current rate of N/A.
What is the best way to get the £2500 from the current account to the saver account?
Should I ring them up or try to do it online? I presume they can do it instantly rather than take 3 days or so so I can get the funds in before 26th.
Any advice gratefully received.
Thanks.0 -
I had the same problem. The cashier at the branch did the transfer for me. Presumably you could also do it by telephone banking.0
-
On the note I made about not receiving a cashcard after 2 weeks: I telephoned and apparently it had not been ordered, so it was forced through manually. Apparently it may have gone through automatically "at some point" (this is next to useless for helping to combat fraud).
I was not really bothered one way or the other about the cashcard, but just wanted to know whether to expect it - at least I know its coming now.
Edit: Thinking about it this has been a bit of a shambolic account opening all in all - not able to transfer from current account on opening, not seeing it in quick transfer list as expected, not having the 6% rate reported and the potential for a cashcard to go astray. Not their finest hour.0 -

Does the 1st £1000 also have to be in the current account before 26th Nov or by the end of Nov?0
