Am I being tight considering giving these gifts?

My former MiL (I have divorced her, not her son
) once gave me a packet of cream crackers. I reckon she forgot me completely and just gave me whatever was in her cupboard :rotfl:
Sorry Spud but that is hilarious! That is the first time I have laughed all day :T :rotfl:
If you still saw her, I would have been soooo tempted to give her the same pack back the following year!:j 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts' - DFW Nerd member 866 :j0 -
no gift vouchers are great...it would last my mum all year as she makes a hobbie out of buying stuff and taking it back.........this would last her all year...bless her0

most of my Xmas pressies this year are either vouchers or presents bought with vouchers, I don't see anything wrong with it!!0

BB, I think vouchers are a great gift - you get to choose what you want and you always get far more for your money once the sales start after Christmas!

By the way, Tesco are doing BOGOF on Matchmakers (Mint and Orange flavours) at £1.79 at the moment - these always remind me of Christmas when I was little...I always got a box, and would love it if somebody bought me some this year (hint, hint, Mr P, if you're reading...!
) - particularly if there was a voucher included! :j :T :j

Another vote for vouchers here, and the chocs/ toiletries idea is exactly what I do. That way they have something to enjoy immediately, and something to look forward to. Home baking would be extra fab as it shows definite time and attention gone into it!
Oh and of course you're being eco-conscious by minimising the wrapping and ensuring the gift will be used!

I personally love book vouchers, i just get a kick out of buying books..the hard bit is prying them out of my hands and putting them on Amazon..so i have a rule now, if i am not going to read them again(i do that as well) then on they go..total profit, and i can always restock with more vouchers later on in the year.:D :rotfl:Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
