I've been struggling for ages to buy Emporio Armani Diamonds Body Lotion, so was delighted to find the "So Lippy" website which APPEARED to have it in stock - but appearances can be deceptive! As I'd never heard of this company before I googled their name and came across the very mixed reviews on here, Ciao, Trust Pilot, Wikio and Facebook. The number of people who'd ordered products and had to wait ages for them (or not received them at all) really put me off ordering, so I decided to give them a call (on 01372 727577) to check stock availability. The following might give you some insight into this company. My call (on a Saturday afternoon) was answered within 3 rings by a polite woman who told me she'd check if the body lotion was in stock. After about 30 seconds she said "It looks like we have a couple in stock, but we've also had a number of orders for it". She took my name and number and said she'd have to phone me back once they'd processed those orders to let me know the stock situation. I'm not holding my breath - it sounded like they already had more orders than stock and that some of those people who had already paid for their products are not going to get them (at least I'm not one of them - sorry!). And herein lies the main problem - THEY HAVE NO AUTOMATED STOCK CONTROL SYSTEM!
You would expect any professional online retailer to have an ordering system that, as each order is placed, the stock number decreases until it reaches zero and then the website automatically displays the item as being out of stock, but their website is clearly not that sophisticated. In fact, their website seems to suggest that they have a small shop on Epsom High Street, run by a couple of women (owner + 1 maybe?) and they probably only have an online presence because someone told them it would be a good idea. I don't state this to be patronising, but simply to warn potential customers (particularly those outside the UK) that they don't have the basics in place to be a good, efficient online retailer. So, my recommendation would be this: PHONE THEM TO CHECK STOCK AVAILABILITY BEFORE PLACING YOUR ORDER ONLINE as this simple step will set your expectations accordingly and potentially save you a lot of money and unnecessary aggravation. (You may even get lucky if they do have sufficient stock of what you're after - they do have some good reviews, after all.)

You liked them so much that you signed up then went back through the old pages of a forum (where the last post was about 7 months ago) just to praise the company?
False praise such as this from either company owners or employees says far more about the business than poor reviews ever could.

My mum placed an order with SoLippy for Violet by Marc Jacobs. This is a perfume that can only be bought in Duty Free so seeing this for sale on the website was an absolute godsend! I've said to my mum that this is what I want for Christmas after she had asked.
She placed this order on the 16th of November 2016 and it still hasn't arrived yet. This is a U.K based business and I live in East Yorkshire. It does not take a month for something to arrive! My mum has said that she's contacted the company various times via Email and telephone and still has not got a response.
Does anyone know the next step from here? This is absolutely shocking service!0 -
