Ignore what was here before. I've changed my mind
StockieMy views and opinions are my own and do not represent those of my employer(s) or anyone else0 -
Errrrrr.......
The invitation is;-
'BUY this printer for £77.99 and you can BUY [if you wish] this camera for £19.99.
To receive this offer just add both items to trolley'.
Simple.
Buy the [obselete and superceeded] printer in isolation and pay £79.99.
Or
Buy the [obselete and superceeded] printer for £79.99 and [psssssst we can fit you up with an (obsolete and superceeded) digicam] BUY a HP317 for £19.99.
No compulsion to buy the Cam..
Two separate actions, customers choice.
Tis not, therefore, a 'BUNDLE'.
There is a note on the printer spec............*This item has not been price reduced.
There is a restriction [the camera].............*Is excluded from the 16 day etc. returns policy.
The printer is NOT.....................................Excluded from the 16 day etc. returns policy.
No axe to grind here, except Argos claiming the moral high ground.

"I agree it is "Fraud" not money-saving. Argos has wised up to this and this thread has been circulated to stores and they've been told to look out for the "Fraudsters" among us. Beware you may be arrested and prosecuted if you try this!!! You have been warned! Stockie" <
"You have been warned! Stockie" .
Thank you Stockie tis bullocks, tho'. your quote; "Argos has wised up".
Well Argos, you know fine well that this has been a well planned and cynical ploy to unload your old and soon to be 'run off' stock onto your innocent and trusting customer base pre Xmas.
So, properly define your terms.
County Court would, we feel, find in favour of the customer.
[This does not condone 'abuse' of the Argos lax and probably misleading descriptors].
rgds.,
baff.

There are lots of offers at argos, regardless of whether its an older model or not is not relevant to the topic at hand. I think the main point recently is that by buying a lot of the deal and exploiting the loop hole is somewhat fraud even though going through argos terms and conditions its not specified. The OFFER is if you buy the printer you get the camera at the cheaper price. Its an offer, but its not actually pointed out on the website clearly that if you return it youll be charged full price for the camera, maybe because this offer is causing such a stink that will be rectified in future.0 -
Dont understand why you stick up for Argos on this one, they made a stupid offer to try and get rid of some obsolete stock, Consumers take advantage of that. Nothing fraudulant about that at all, just clever moneysaving.
If we all thought like you, consumers would get shafted every day (oh hang on they do)

Surely some of the blame is due to argos's epos/till billing method?
Rather than bill each item at half price, as it's meant to be a half price deal they knock all the discount off the one item. Meaning buy a printer at full price and then pay 19.99 for a camera.
I can't see the problem with taking a brand new unopend printer that cost 79.99 (according to the receipt) printer back for a refund, and getting 79.99 refunded?
or
adding £20 to the refunded amount, and buying a current instore offer for £99.99?
The £100 discount is given off the camera when both items are bought together and if you carry out that process you gain £100. It does not say how long the printer needs to be owned for or not returned.
It's just a loophole that has been well spotted and exploited.
Many thanks to the OP0 -
Offer Only says buy it and did not say you had to keep the printer or could not return it :snow_laug.0
