  • i went into my store today and there is now a heavy presence among staff about this deal. Everyone knew about what people are upto with the deal, if you buy in store, they should be starting to write on the receipt only return if returning both items, or something to that effect

    Bah!

NEARLY got away with it...She didn't click when I showed the item, but she saw my receipt and asked "Is the digital camera still in the box?". Then she saw it was seperate to the printer and also noted the 16 day exclusion, to which I said "But thats under the camera item, not the printer!" and she went off to check so I was snookered then and as expected when she came back she informed me (as if I didn't already know!) the camera would have to be returned too. Will try after Xmas at a different store without the receipt though, the offer will be over by then :)

I loved it how when I purchased a game for my kids after denying the refund for the printer she got her highlighter out and run it across the "Excluded from 16 day" part :D:D:D

Except that it is fundamentally dishonest and fraudulent and you're now six times 'worse' than anyone else on the thread (sorry, somone had to say it).

People are doing this to defraud Argos. It's not MoneySaving, it's stealing - or obtaining goods by disception. Argos would be best to refuse returns on this printer unless proven faulty - which is their right.

I'm happy to chase a bargain, but this is taking it too far - Martin would not approve surely.

Flame away if it makes you feel better - I can take it, but I won't be reading them for another 24hours.

    Hi,

My First Post on MSE :xmassmile , hope this is some use.

This method has worked six times out of seven, and I now have 6 camera's for £120. Xmas pressies sorted.

Buy the package, then take just the printer back (pref to another store) without receipt and say "I've received this printer as a Birthday present on the 10th, but I see your now doing a deal with a camera for a hundred"

"...can I effectively have a refund and then rebuy the printer and the camera package?"

6 times out of 7 they said yes, no prob, and I walked out with a camera and the same printer 19.99 lighter.

It basically allows you to buy the camera's for 19.99 if you present a printer at the till !!

Do this as many times +1 for the number of cameras you require, then take the printer+camera back for a full cash refund.

    Result !:xmassmile

Are you using a credit card for the refunds and purchases???..

    If you are.... I wouldnt....

In my store we refuse any sort of refund on an item like this....
  • Tried to return the printer in another store in East Kilbride I was asked that I had to return the camera otherwise I would have to pay another £100, I have decided to return both items
