Bank Account Review

It's not a debate when the other party is a brick wall.Thank you.
You have obviously run out of any useful input on this debate.
It's called an account review. Yeah, many of the people who conduct these are paid bonuses for sales. However, I would never sell an inappropriate product to the customer. I like to think the customer is GLAD they have been made aware of a product they may not have known they could have/were eligible for and hopefully their life is a little simpler or easier because of it!
An account review is voluntary, and offered to you, but you don't HAVE to have it.
I once spoke to a bloke who did a consolodation loan a few months back with us, I mentioned that I see he is still paying a large DD to a CC company... and he said he'd been to embarassed to mention it when he did the previous loan!! It had a substantial amount on it which meant his whole loan was now at a lower APR when I added it on... many customers don't KNOW what the bank can offer unless the bank TELLS them.
He thought he couldn't refinance until he'd had the loan for 6 months because no one told him otherwise!
Yes, I got my points, but he saved himself a load in interest and (provided he gets himself over to the DFW board lol) get himself out of debt!!Kavanne
Nuns! Nuns! Reverse!

I'm not going to feel bad about the job I do when I can honestly say I've saved or made people thousands of pounds. Call it a review, call it what you like, but if people are coming out those rooms happy what's the issue?
I can honestly say that I've ever 'sold' anything. I talk to people about products they may find useful and leave it there. Always the customer's choice.0 -

Exactly this. Nobody will force a customer to buy something, it's always the customer's choice.
If you don't want to go, decline. You've not wasted any time. If you choose to go and the bank can't do anything for you, no big deal - feel better about yourself since you're in a good financial state. What would William Shatner do?0 -
Account Review = opportunity to sell, no doubt about it.
The thing is, what they are trying to sell usually improves the customer's financial position, e.g. better savings accounts than previously held, cheaper insurance or 0% credit card. Sell inappropriately, and the individual is likely to be sacked.
How can this be bad for the customer?
How many customers moan "they never told me they had a better account"?
At least a 'Review' addresses this!0 -
Nice to see the bank employees defending their Sales Pitch .. whoops sorry, I mean " Account Review ".:rolleyes:0

If you're financially aware enough to be on here chances are the service would not be of use to you.
However the reality is that the vast majority of people are at best naive about financial matters.0
